Post Antibiotic treatments for newborn?

Hi there, my little guy just finished up a 10 day antibiotic course for treating a possible cord infection. Since then, he refuses to sleep on his back, gets the hiccups almost after every feeding, spits up if he is on his back, but never really crys for long in pain. He will also spit up but then swallow it. He strains to have a bowel movement, but they are plentiful, and he is very gassy. I am wondering if the good flora in his belly have been wiped out and if there is anything I could be doing to help him? I feel horrible that his first ten days of life were spent sucking down that pink stuff, but the idea of the alternative was even more frightening. He sleeps in his sling, but nighttime sleep has been difficult on us since he will only sleep on my chest.
any input appreciated-Cori

Yes! My little guy was upset by the abx I had to take for a retained placenta. I'm sorry it took me so long to start him on probiotics, because it's made a big difference. I started with FloraBaby because that is what I could buy locally. I've since ordered and started him on HLC.
