Do you feed your 13 month old walnuts & pecans?

He had them a week ago and really seemed to like them! I did find the small chunks in his stool the next day so I'm not sure how much actually got digested. I was thinking that since they are soft nuts it might be okay. He has eight front teeth (four on top, four below) and one lower molar.

Allergies is not a concern, by the way - it's more whether there's a choking hazard or whether there is some other reason that they are not good for him.

Should I take it from the lack of replies, that people think I'm crazy for even considering such a thing?? I haven't done it again. Perhaps I should post this in the Toddlers forum. He's not walking yet, so I am hanging out here and there, alternately.

My dd's had nuts before in small pieces if they're in something. She's done fine, but I haven't given her a larger piece to eat out of hand yet. She's a really good eater and I'm very in tune with what she can physically eat. So if you're not worried about allergies, your child likes them and you're confident that he is capable, then why not?

mine started eating nuts right around that age and did fine with them. i gave her small bits.
