I didn't decide, God did. , or atleast thats the joke I tell. I was also having an inner conflict about when to have #2 (because I knew I wanted more), but DS1 was about 3 months old when I started to have a really hard time keeping up with pumping and nursing. So when my cycle returned and we werent doing anything to "be careful" I became pregnant and DS1 was only 4 months old. I regret some parts of being pregnant while he was so small, but I tried to savor as much as I possibly could. What was really nice was I had to go on early maternity leave, so I was home with DS1 for almost a month in a half before DS2 was born, then home for another 2 months. I really tried to have as much fun all day everyday with DS1 that I could, and looking back, I am really glad I was able to do that.

I want my kids fairly close together. I plan on using natural spacing for the next one. My cycle came back at 12m pp with my first, so I suspect it will be sometime around then this time as well. Both times I got pregnant on my first try, so I should have a 22-24m spacing. I love babies, but want to have all of them while I'm young.

I'm not sure how many kids I'll have, or exactly how I'll space them...after all, I'm single and decisions like that require the participation of a partner

My brother is 28, I'm 20 and my sister is 16. Our spacing works for our family. My brother is actually my half brother (same dad), and was unplanned...my dad was pretty young, and never had a very strong relationship with my brother's mom, so they never had anymore kids together. His mom had 8 more kids, and they range between 4 years old and 23 years old. Anyhow, my parents got pregnant, suffered a miscarriage, and didn't want to immediately TTC again. I was born roughly two years after the miscarriage. When I was 2, my parents decided to try again, and it took them over a year, so my sister and I are just over 4 years apart.

My brother and I have a crappy relationship, but that's everything to do with our personalities and nothing to do with our age difference. My sister and I weren't best friends growing up, but we've always been close. Within the last year or so, I feel we're approaching the same level of maturity, and we're very good friends now. It's nice for me, because I understood what was going on when my sister was a baby, it was so exciting! It's funny, because my mom found out on the same day that she was pregnant and that my brother was coming to live with us(he'd been with his mom). So, I went from being an only child to having two siblings, all within seven months.

Like I've said, I have no idea what exact spacing will work for me and my future DH. However, I can't picture myself ever TTC before two years, since it's very important my future DC receive two full years of nursing. After that, I wouldn't worry so much if I dried up during pregnancy and they were only comfort nursing.
