Where can I find a gate for the bottom of the stairs??

Hi all.. Well we are trying to find a stair gate for the bottom of the stairs.. Most of the gates we have seen say they are for the top of the stairs.. On one side we have the stair rail and then on the other is the wall.. We need a gate that will fit up to 48 inches.. We will have to put a wooden piece and tie it to the rail so that we can install the gate so we cant use the pressure gates either.. I would really appreciate any suggestions on this! Thanks all!

Did you check out the One Step Ahead website? They carry a ton of gates - I am sure you could find something to fit your needs.

Kinda pricy, but we have these at the bottom of both our stair cases. And at the top of one, too. Nice for the bottom of the stairs because when they're not needed (e.g., DC is sleeping) you can leave them retracted. And because you can move them easily, we really only needed one gate per staircase, rather than two.

Barbamama, I like the retractable gate.. That might be neat since we are trying to sell our house and it would be nice if we could hide the gate when people come to look. Did you order from that website?
