I think DD is sick...
She has never really been sick before. She'll be three in a couple of months and she's had maybe one cold in her life. Granted, she JUST started showing some signs of being sick, but since I'm pregnant and the flu is running rampant around here, I want to give her something ASAP.
She seems congested...no runny nose, but that's probably because she keeps, um, "snorking" is what I call it She's sneezed and coughed a little bit. Really, the way she's been running around today it hardly seems like there is anything to worry about. But I just know that she is starting to get sick and I have this gut feeling that it could get pretty nasty.
So, I need someone to tell me what to do, lol. My DD will take chewable vitamins and such, but no liquids. And she is an insanely picky eater, but if there are foods that can help I can at least try. And I guess if there is anything I could/should do to protect myself, that would be good to know! DD and I are together 24/7, so whatever she's got I'm bound to get soon enough! I'm uncomfortable enough at this point in my pregnancy, I really don't want to get sick too.
I'm glad that DD has always had such a great immune system, but it makes me realize that I'm completely clueless about how to take care of a sick kid. Probably should have figured all this out much sooner....

I used to take chewable vitamin C, but it really did some damage to my teeth, just so you know.
Does she like yogurt or anything probiotic-y? That has helped me avoid so many of my kids sicknesses, you might look into getting some probiotics and/or yogurt, kefir, kombucha, etc.
Hope she sails through.

Vitamin D3 is proven to prevent colds (and likely flu as well). Ideally you get and keep your levels in the 50's. But short of that I'd starting taking 9,000 IU per day for you and 2000 IU per day for her.
Probiotics are important for immunity as well and should be easy to mix into things for her.
To keep from getting it yourself you can try saline nasal rinses and/or a neti pot. Also gargle with salt water. You're trying to keep the virus out as flu, particularly, is inhaled. Other viruses frequent hand washing is important.
