I had about 4 headaches this week and then I went to the mw on Friday and the first thing she asked was, "So are you having headaches?"

Natural aids: a teeny bit of caffeine (if you don't drink caffeine, a little will go a long way), a Migra-stick (find at Whole Foods), soaking a gym headband in water with rosemary and peppermint and then putting it on, getting a gel eye mask and putting it in the fridge before putting it over your eyes, Dr. Ritter's Neck-Ease (If your headaches originate in the back of the head, get this).

Yes, caffeine affects blood vessels to relieve headache; it has nothing to do with dependency. In fact, the headache medicine "Excedrin" is just tylenol plus caffeine (100mg).

I have suffered from severe headaches during this pregnancy and did during the previous pregnancy also. It can be debilitating for sure. I have resorted to Tylenol and a bit of codeine when it gets really bad and I can't cut it.
Last pregnancy, I ended up taking Percocet on occasion as nothing else would work, and it would cause me to be in the hospital I was in so much pain and vomiting from the pain (and dehydrated as a result).

It's my least favourite pregnancy symptom!!

If you go the excedrin route (which I also take ) make sure to get Excedrin Tension Headache, as it's aspirin free.

The only thing to watch with Excedrin is that it does have 100mg of caffeine per dose, so check with your HCP about how much is okay to take while pregnant.
