Angry Mom and babe kicked off Delta flight for refusing to cover up!!

I don't want to go into too much specific information here because it's not my story - and I don't know what this mom is going to do about this situation.

Let me just say that a friend called me this morning to tell me that her friend (someone I have met a few times) was kicked off a Delta Airlines flight lastnight because she refused to cover up her child while she was breastfeeding.

That's right - KICKED OFF THE FLIGHT!

I will keep you all posted.

Dead serious.

I guess they did refund her money - pay for a cab to a hotel and paid for a hotel room. It was late at night - the flight was already hours late and there were no more flights out that night.

She got names and numbers of wittness' on the flight and the pilot got off the plane to apologize to her.

I guess once an attendant decides to kick you off a flight that choice cannot be over ridden by anyone - even the pilot.

I hope she decided to draw attention to this matter because most if not all airlines allow mothers to breastfeed uncovered, so this attendent should be fired.

Well, maybe they were concerned she'd be making bombs w/ the bm moving through the baby's system. :

I hope the Wrath will visit that um... nutty attendant.

Wow, I've gotten looks for bringing my children on planes before and they never made a peep b/c they we nursing! What would I have done? This just sickens me.

I hope she gets some major compensation and that Delta takes serious action towards the flight attendant. How horribly rude to a nursing mother!

Wait a minute.....it's illegal to breastfeed on an airplane if you don't cover up??????? This just can't BE! : What would have happened if she refused? Would the police escort her off? I would have made a STINK and called press on that.

She could probably at least get preliminary legal advise from La Leche League. They have people who deal with legal questions.

I would be so enraged. How humiliating to be treated like you are some sort of DISTURBANCE or THREAT.

That attendant is going to be fired.

I hope the mom makes a big fuss over it. Take it to the press!

I feel so bad for her to have ad to go through that! Pour mama!

I hope she raises a stink!

If she want's to let more details be know, like the flight number I would be more than happy to send a letter to Delta telling them that I will never fly with them unless action is taken to disiplin the attendent, educate all their staff and compinsate your friend.
