Nurse in at ALL delta counters in US
I just had a thought. With all the media talk and this outragous thing that Delta did. I think there needs to be a nation wide nurse in at all Delta counters. http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a...00010000000001
I am just really getting sick of this discrimination and there needs to be a major stand by the breastfeeding community.
What do you think?
How about next week, Tuesday at 10am, it will be tough, but with the holidays coming up the airports are really going to be busy.

I'm not a mom yet.
If I did know a bfing mother, I would go too. I'd make a sign and hold it in lieu of a child. I guess for now, I just have to be content with sending off e-mails of displeasure.

Get this rolling
I am not currently bfing, but you might want to contact the local LLLI and let them know.
Email everyone on your contact list to have folks know about it--even if they are not breastfeeding, they might know someone who is.
Good luck all!

Remember the flight in question--though it had a Delta Flight #--was operated by MESA-AIR GROUP which operates regional flights for Delta Connections, US Airways Express and United Express.
I humbly suggest we include Delta Counters and any counters that sell Mesa-Air Group flights regardless of whether it's Delta, US Air or United ...

Yikes that's a ton of work! I am willing to do some in my area, but am going to need help with the rest of the country! Whose up to spreading the word in their towns?

So what if you not BF right now, you still have right to be outraged.

Nurse ins aren't just for nursing moms.
If more people who aren't nursing mom go to these things it's just that much more of a turn out.
There have been a few nurse ins around here that I had planned to attend but couldn't because I have a nursing baby. If the baby has a fever or was up teething till 4 am it isn't possible to drive 45 minutes to a nurse in. At mommy groups like LLL the nursing mommies often show up incredibly late it can be really hard to get out the door with a baby or toddler.
So come one come all.

I can't do Tuesday personally but I will gladly distribute the info.
With Victoria's Secret nurse in it was helpful to have a 1 page press release to distribute with the background of the incident and details of the nurse in... Then everyone can spread the info around to friends and parenting groups.
Can you also getting the backing of the person this happened to?
Contact Snooter here (Jessica) and the other woman Rebecca? who organized the Nurse In and see what advice they have.... I've met Jessica and I'm sure she would want to talk to you.
That event in MA got this on the radar of many legislators thanks to the article, the nurse in and 'regular people ' supporting and organizing around the incident she was willing to share and speak about and stand up against.
You may not need to rush into this, but I totally know what you mean... I'm sick and tired of hearing this happen. PUshing this incident around the federal funding (or state/locally) has the potential to make change happen.
Some times things just need a little spark...
Jessica

Sue, also, if this is going to be the thread to start organizing the nurse in I'd edit your first post with a link to the story for people that might end up here through word of "mouth" but might not have seen the article or thread about what happened.
I swear I just read a response from Emily (, I thought it was its own new thread, and I skimmed it, and of course now I can't find it.
Anyways, I really DO want to start forwarding this around, but it still seems a bit tentative to me right now (understandibly).
Jessica

I found it.... I suppose I cannot truly confirm this, but Emily, the woman that was kicked off the Delta flight posted here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...4&postcount=74
Jessica
(Now I can go to sleep, I wouldn't have been able to if I hadn't found the darn post) It's okay, I'm laughing at myself too

i'm trying to get some bfers together down here in south florida. i've posted on my myspace blog, and on hollywood api (in fl) and have gotten a few responses that "have boobs, will nurse!" we were thinking of going to the airport here the day before thanksgiving, but we can wait it out if this is going to go down en masse.
who needs help? what can i do? i'm ready and willing. and eager!!!
please email me, pm me... i am able to get involved on a really deep level. the upcoming holidays aren't going to affect me much, as they will most of you, so whatever needs to be done, let me know!!
