Info about buried penis?

Hi All

I just noticed in one of the threads that a woman had a little boy with a buried penis. I am just curious about what exactly this is, and what causes it, is it a problem, etc. I did google it, but I didn't quite grasp it. Is it more likely to happen in a circumcised or intact penis? Thanks for your help.

Buried penis is a common complication of circ. I believe that there have been cases of intact buried penises, but it's much more common in circumcised babies.

Children are not born with trapped penis; circumcision causes it. Routine circumcision of a webbed penis or circumcision when there is significant scrotal swelling (from a hydrocele or hernia) can lead to trapped penis.

Buried penis is a common complication of circumcision. It's etiology is believed to be that the tethering tissues in the penis are cut short during the circumcision procedure. It usually means that the man will have a short penis his entire life although the penis may emerge from the pubic pad during childhood.

Concealed penis is a normal variation in boys and will almost always resolve during childhood. It simply is a factor of the penis being held closely to the body when flaccid and the child/man will be able to acheive full erectile potential.

Boys who have concealed penis are probably at far higher risk of buried penis.
