Mystery Plant

I was thinking it was a pepper plant because of the shape of the leaves. The flowers are long and there are tons of them. I started everything from seed. I did have a package of mixed peppers, I don't remember planting anything in this spot though. Help.

Four O'clocks? They can be pretty invasive, so it might be something that was there from before?

I built this garden 4 years ago. I will put it since it isn't a veggie plant. I have no idea where it could of come from. Thanks!

I might not be right. Did you compare it to photos? I don't recognize it as a pepper or any other veggie, though

Doesn't look like a veggie to me, either. Looks like a weed, sorry

Once again, Chesapeake me!

Thanks ladies. I don't really have any weeds in my garden, a few random ones every once in a while. I'm glad I didn't keep waiting for it to produce.

I thought it was a 4 o'clock too. Are the flowers fragrant in the evenings?

Looks like a 4 o'clock to me too. It will drop seeds everywhere and you will have them coming up everywhere. My mom had them and loved them, but I really didn't care for them. It's up to whether you want these all over the garden or not. They can be pretty, but like pp have said very invasive.

I think you might be closer to your pepper identification. It looks like a breed of Datura to me, but I could be wrong, as I am not familiar with southwest plants. The leaves and the trumpet-shape of those blossoms say datura to me. If this is the case, or if it is related, it is a member of the nightshade family just like peppers are. I would rip it out.

Due to increases in operating costs, decreases in revenue and market instability, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Those leaves are totally not pepper to me. I second nightshade. I've had pesky 4-oclocks but those leaves look too big to match the ones I have seen.

Rip it. (or at least that's what I would do!)
