I have three types of sage. Purple, Tri color and Berggarten. Can these all be planted in the same space or planter? Or will they affect each other's taste and/or appearance? Thanks!

They will all be fine together.  If you are a sage fan, I would also get plain cooking sage.  None of the varieties you mention quite have that wonderful oomph that it has, even though it is not so fabulously ornamental.  Also, the varieties you mentioned do not bloom the way plain garden sage does.  Sometimes, but not usually.  They are grown for the beauty of the leaves.

Thank you! That is good to know. I'm actually using it to make sage bundles and for the beauty of them. Altho, I probably should plant some of the kitchen kind as a nice treat for my baby dragon :)

You must tell us about your baby dragon!

The varieties of sage you speak of have varying degrees of "saginess" and are pretty decent for cooking, too.  But if you smell them side by side with culinary sage, you will catch the pine-i-ness and pungency of it that the others don't have.  They are almost smooth and sweet, with a balsam fragrance.
