How can I help my compost bin? I started it this spring, late April, and we had so much rain that the whole bottom half is jus soaked. Stuff is definitely breaking down since we keep putting stuff in, but the bottom is so wet it seems useless at this point. I thought about digging it out and putting it back on top to maybe get some usable stuff by the fall.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Heidi

Have you been turning it at least once a month? Try mixing it up really well with a shovel or fork and add lots of dry leaves, newspaper, twigs, or even some organic soil.

I have been, but not all the way down to the bottom. Thanks for advice -- I think it will be my weekend workout.
