Yellow leaves *usually* mean too much water. Or, if you recently gave it some kind of fertilizer, it could be "burned" in which case, you want to add more water.

could it need to be in a bigger pot? maybe it needs more space.

How do you do it inside by the way? I'd like to have fresh basil all year round.

By the way, basil loves to be pinched off lots--helps it grow like crazy.

it is an outside pot.

it seems pretty small in comparison to its pot.

I will definitely pinch it and see if that helps.

I have a hard time thinking we overwater...we're not great plant parents.....if you know what mean...

My basil plants love full sun and lots of water each morning. I water it until I can see the water coming out of the bottom of the pot (I'm in FL, you may not need that much). I've also noticed that I need to transplant them to large pots as soon as I buy them- they seem to need the room to grow.

I have basil in my garden outside and in pots inside year round. They like a warm, sunny spot if they are inside. And I do pinch my basil to get bushier plants.
