Pictures of the tomato jungle here. I have about 16 tomato plants, and 5 or 6 of them are taller than 5.5 feet, and they are sprawled out so much that I can't walk between them. And I've retied them 3 times already. Nothing else is terribly exciting I think.

I was surprised how big my cinderella pumpkin was. I've never had a cinderella get so big before. It must be the soil. Must be perfect for pumpkins.

We are inundated with the green beans right now. It's crazy! I didn't think I'd get so many with how my trellis was.

I don't have garden pics of today, but forest pictures. So sort of my backyard if we get to include national forests... Discovered Thimbleberries, so looks like we're off on another foraging adventure in the next few weeks to try those suckers out. It's a sickness.

Here's a pic everyone hates to see

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3287/...3c6a93a9ab.jpg

A bad storm last night flattened my 3 rows of corn. they were 9ft tall. I've got them kinda supported by my pea fences now, but I don't know what'll happen. sometimes it turns out, other times it doesn't.

Ohhhhhhh! That is a serious bummer. It's so hard to see the work/love that is gardening flattened like that... I have to say, though, that we had a terrifying microburst/hailstorm a few years ago, and stuff I thought was gone for sure recovered and produced some... not as much, and certainly not on as pretty plants, but I did get something... hope that happens for you too!

I've propped up what I could with the pea fences. Most of the roots were still intact, some of the stalks broke when I was propping them up. They were just sending up the top tree like things. I don't know if there were any tassles coming yet.

I haven't been doing so good with taking pictures of my harvests this year. I have zucchini literally covering almost half of my table in the kitchen and have had several pound bags of beans. Probably like 5 pounds. Lots of sungold tomatoes. Maybe 10 okra?

Fwiw, I'm only doing it so I remember stuff for next year, and just in case I want to go after the evil developer for grocery money if he tries to kick us out of our house/land. I want/need actual evidence of how much more valuable our land is than our next door neighbor's that just has dog poo on it.

If I get really ambitious or bored over the winter, I was almost thinking of printing out the garden photos to stick in a real paper journal for me and the kids to leaf through. But right now, computer's quicker and less hassle.
