I've always shed hair. It started when I hit puberty. It's annoying but I learned to deal with it. However, it's getting significantly worse. I'll run my fingers through my hair in the morning after I wake up and I'll fill the sink up with hair. If I wash it, I'll clean out a whole wad from the shower drain + what I combed out earlier. Before I go to bed I'll run my finger through it again and get another "collection" of hair. I've made some changes - no more hair products, minimal blow-drying and curling (only on Sunday for church, wash it every other day, and vitamins + extra Biotin. It doesn't seem to help and I'm getting discouraged. Is this a seasonal thing? I don't remember it from past years. Should I be talking to my PCP about this ... I'm due for a physical so I'd just ask when I was there for that?

Thanks in Advance!

Erin

Are you possibly hypothyroid? I'm reading the book "Solved: The Riddle of Illness" (You can search for it on google books and read some of it) and the doc's patients who are experiencing hair loss are able to cure it with some supplements, notably Armour Desiccated Thyroid.
