So I've quiet using Aveda products for a few years now, but I still miss the orgasm inducing scents from their products. I've done a little internet research and I want to try and replicate some similar fragrances out of essential oils to perfume my own unscented shampoos, bath salts ect.

I'm hoping that I can work with some other people on getting some good recipes. Anyone interested in working with me on this one?

I've got a list of the starting notes, but will need to figure out the ratios. This week I picked up the essential oils needed from whole foods and am ready to start formulating.

I'm subbing to see what you come up with! I had a massage at an Aveda spa and couldn't quit sniffing myself all day. It was delicious!

Here's what I am working from which I found on the internet.

#1: Key Element Earth -- Notes: Peppermint, Lemon, Orange
#2: Key Element Water -- Notes: Rose, Geranium, Eucalyptus
#3: Key Element Fire -- Notes: Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose
#4: Key Element Air -- Notes: Clove, Rose, Jasmine
#5: Key Element Infinity -- Notes: Petitgrain, Orange, Lemon
#6: Key Element Water/Air -- Notes: Ylang Ylang, Bergomot, Orange
#7: Key Element Air/Water -- Notes: Lime, Orange, Lemon
#9: Key Element Water/Air/Fire -- Notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Jasmine
#12: Key Element Earth -- Notes: Peppermint, Eucalyptus
#15: Key Element Water -- Notes: Clove, Anise, Fennel
#20: Key Element Fire -- Notes: Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Violet Leaves
#25: Key Element Infinity -- Notes: Lime, Lavender

#5 is like the scent used in the Brilliant line

#6 is like the scent used in Shampure

#7 -- smells a lot like the old Chakra III scent Equipose

Diffuser Oils/Candle Scents:

Euphoric = Key Element #4
Lavandou = Key Elements #3 + #15
Madagascar = Key Elements #5 + #25
Rainforest = Key Elements #9 + #15
Valencia = Key Elements #1 + #7

I'd like to start with figuring out the ratios with number six. I will start mixing a few drops of essential oils into an almond oil base. Anyone up for joining me and posting what ratios they found worked best?

After this one I would like to experiment with #2.

Did you know that you can get the Madagascar fragrance oil from "Wholesale Supplies PLus"? it is a fragrance/essential oil blend.

I attened AVEDA for their Esthetician program I graduated from there in 2008 ,,,, I just found this site and your post.... I will post the blends you are missing . I will have to dig out my books to see if I still have the exact formulas of the blends meaning of how many drops etc...
# 5 Infinity Air- Jasmine, Lemon , & Brilliant line
#6 Water-Air -ylang-ylang, coriander citrus Ivory line
#7 Air-Water Line orange
#8Air-Water bergamont, juniper, geranium

I can't recall the Brilliant line mixture nor the Ivory Line mixture and as said I will have to dig out my Aveda books to see it I still have how many drops of each go in the formulations I want to say we mixed them 1 to 2 drops of each in the base blend ... hope this helps

Avenda Personal Blends

Hi Mary,

I am so happy to have found your post. I absolutely loved these personal blends. I loved #9 and #21 . Would you happen to have the information for #21 ? I wore it in the 90's. Also, any idea would be close to those two scents today? Chakra #1 has patchouli, but nothing with sandalwood.

Thank you so much!

Jennifer

I absolutely *LOVE* #6 - Water. Have you been able to reproduce that one? Would I be THAT lucky?

Thank you,
Nadia

Hi! I found this thread because I'm trying to do exactly the same thing: duplicate an Aveda scent I used to get all the time that they've discontinued. It's the #3 scene, called Fire.

I'm wondering where you found the above formulas. I distinctly remember someone at Aveda once telling me the notes for the #3 scent were Jasmine, Vanilla, and another scent I can't quite remember, but I have a vague recollection it was Cinnamon. But it could have easily been ylang ylang. But I definitely remember Vanilla being one of the scents.

I want to attempt to reproduce the scent in the same way I get them from Aveda. I have a few of those little glass bottles with the spray nozzle left over from previous scents I bought there. Just not sure what to use as the base for the scent. I bought some mineral oil and think that there also alcohol (isopropyl) involved to dissolve the oils. But if anyone has any ideas about the base Aveda uses for it's custom scents, I'd love to know. That and the formula for #3 and #6 (the Shampure scent).
