Im growing it out long and natural but I need some tips on boosting it along.
Heres what I do to my hair, maybe Im not doing something correctly, I just dont feel its as healthy as it should be. My hair is falling out now that Im not breastfeeding as much, however I just switched from Naturals Down Under shampoo and conditioner (its not natural at all, its just a cheap aussie brand at walmart, it smells lovely though) to Jason's organic jojoba shampoo and conditioner, I thought it would be a better adjustment, any one have good experience with the jason brand?
I wash the scalp only and condition every thing else, I wash it 2-3 times a week, I try to avoid blowdrying, sometimes it happens when I have to shower right before work, cant go to work with wet hair. I try not to straighten it, maybe 2-3 times a month. I use a brush with flexible plastic teeth, I have it up in a ponytail at home and braided loosely to the side at work, I dont have it down much unless Im going out, like to the city or shopping. I dont brush it much, I dont know if thats a bad thing, but after brushing it after a shower, It may or may not get brushed until the next shower. I have really straight hair, not brushing gives me volume and a little natural wave, I use bobby pins to keep it in place. Thats a lot of info about my hair, is anyone else working towards the same goal? Want to join?

I avoid 'cones in my conditioners. My favorite conditioner is Giovanni 50/50 calming conditioner or Giovanni Smooth and Silky.
I'm now trying to avoid sulfates in my shampoos. I'm using EO Lavender and Aloe shampoo right now which has cocosulfate, which is not as harsh as the Sodium L Sulfates. I shampoo scalp only every other day. I have really straight long hair and bangs. I don't blow dry (except occasionally in the winter), never straighten or curl (it doesn't work anyways-well I lied, maybe once a year for a holiday party or something, I'll try to put some curls in it w/the curling iron). I use a wide toothed detangling comb after the shower along with Giovanni Direct Leave in Conditioner. I try not to have my hair up too tight. I do brush occasionally, since it brings more circulation to the scalp, but my shedding has made it too depressing to brush lately
My hair has been shedding since June and I don't know why. I've had some blood tests and am waiting to hear the results this week (thought it was my thyroid).
My hair is really dry, though, and I have yet to find a really good natural conditioner. Currently use Pantene, if I didn't I'd never get a comb through.

That in mind, I'm letting mine grow out again (it is still so short it just sticks up everywhere) and am also looking for the "best bets" to just keep it natural and healthy. I have super fine hair (stick straight).
