I have very straight hair. I get a little curl in the back.  I am white and overweight.  I am thinking about going no poo...but I was thinking hair styles.  I am uncomfortable with straight hair.  Growing up it had a tendency to be stringy.  In hind sight this might have been a puberty issue, self esteme, and 80's point of view.

I am 37 and at times will be in a business atmosphere.  I would need something professional but I cannot see doing this without hair care products.

How does no poo work with this?  How do I style my hair?

I use gel in my hair every day and a tiny spritz of hairspray to keep my bangs out of my eyes and have done no-poo for like 5 months now?  It's not been an issue.  Also, I can wear my hair any way I want without a problem.  I don't think you'll run into any problems.  I do recommend looking for products that are silicone free though because silicone products build up on the shaft of the hair and can hinder your no-poo progress.  Anything on the ingredient list ending in "-cone" is a silicone product and probably not a great idea.
