My skin is really sensitive, and basically when I use anything on it--moisturizer, sun block, makeup--it breaks out. It does best when I just wash it with water, but I get flaky dry patches, especially on my forehead.

Can any one recommend a way to stop really sensitive skin from being so dry and flaky?

are you eating enough healthy fats? What about taking a fish oil supplement?

Have you tried any kinds of plain oils on your skin---coconut or olive are my favorites. I find when my skin is really dry it is super sensitive to anything with additives or preservatives and I have to stick with plain extra virgin olive oil (1-2 drops mixed with water and gently worked into my skin 1-2 times a day).

I'm a morning person.  We actually do exist.

Fats: I might not be getting enough. I'm a vegetarian and my diet is very low-fat in general. I hadn't thought about that, thanks! And it's funny, because this very morning I was thinking that I haven't used flax seed oil in ages.

dawningmama, I haven't used any oils on my face. The EVOO doesn't make you break out at all?

Nope, doesn't make me break out. I have pretty normal (ie, not oily, not dry) skin generally, but am prone to dryness when the air is dry/heat is on a lot in the winters. I do break out around my chin every now and again but I think that's mainly because I always have my hand or the phone receiver on my face like that at work. I'm working on breaking that habit and wiping down my phone at least once a day!
