Not sure where to post this - I started a thread in healing after childbirth and have not gotten any responses, so thought I'd try here.
After three pregnancies, I have an umbilical hernia that has not gone away and needs to be surgically repaired. Surgery is scheduled for May. It will be regular surgery (not laproscopic).
I spoke with the surgeon and she will let me choose between completely put under for the surgery or having an epidural with sedation. I have had both of these in the past, and didn't like either (but did fine, physically).
Which would be less "toxic" to my body? Any thoughts? Which would you choose?
Also, if anyone has any recovery and healing tips, I'd love to hear them. I would like to avoid strong painkillers, for example, and hope I can just get by with tylenol or ibuprofen.
