I'm 42 and have had puffy under-eyes for much of my adulthood. But they seem to be getting worse with age. I wear glasses (which I probably mistakenly believe makes them less noticeable), but I am really self-conscious when I take off my glasses. My mother has bad eye bags too, so I suspect it is hereditary. I do have allergies as well, but even when they are under control I can look puffy.
Has anyone successfully kept their eye bags under control?
How's your diet? My eyes were getting puffy, and then I went off wheat and dairy for a couple of months and the puffiness went away. Also, do you eat a lot of salt?
eta: I do still eat wheat and dairy, but more minimally. I try to stick with rice or corn pasta and don't eat a lot of bread. I don't drink milk except for the odd bowl of cereal once a month or so, but do eat cheese and yogurt.
