I used white vinegar in my carpet shampoo machine today and there is no way I will ever go back to using shampoo! I used 1 cup of vinegar in 1 gallon of hot water and shampood my carpets as usual and they came out bright and clean and smelling great! And there was no nasty wet soapy feet, just wet feet

that's what we do too. If they're extra grimey i'll add a little squirt of dishsoap. I used to use a bit of ammonia as well, but i've since learned that hot ammonia vapors can harm the lungs.

Ah...I shall try that this week! My kitty has taken to peeing on the edges and I want to try to get it out. She goes outside more now so hopefully we can stop this bad habit soon.
