Just wanted to share how i made my own pads because it's super-easy, and has worked for me for years. That being said, i still use a cup for heavy days.

I took a prefold diaper that i no longer needed (because my kids don't wear them anymore) and cut off the thin sides (those can go into the family cloth stash!). Then i took the padded center part and cut it into strips that are about as wide as your typical pad. I then made little pillow cases using scrap fabric and my sewing machine, fit a strip into each one and hand-sewed them shut. I then pin them to my undies with the pin on the outside. Sure, i can't wear yoga pants for a week or the pin will show, but what else is new? :)

Sometimes, after continued washing, the strip shifts around inside the fabric, but i just set these aside and fix them when i get a chance. You can also hand-stitch down the center, through the fabric and everything to prevent this shifting around.

Anyone else make their own?

Why do you add the pillow case part? Do you think it would work without it and just stitch up the cut sides of the liner part from the diaper? Anywhere I can cut out a step... :wink
