So here is an easy one:

Carpet deoderizer
1 cup baking soda
1 tsp tea tree oil/lavendar oil/ or whatever else you like (I don't recommend lemon as it can lighten your carpet
Mix well and add to a container
an old parmesean cheese shaker works well, or pringles can (poke holes in the lid)
sprinkle on and let sit 5-10 minutes and vacuum up. Ahh, smells nice!

Mom of a 7 yr old, 4 yr old, and 1 yr old. Wow. How did that happen?

I use baking soda straight for a lot of things:

sprinkled on a damp sponge instead of cleanser, it's mildly abrasive
sprinkled in the trash cans to deodorize
in the washer with diapers with tto instead of detergent to strip and clean the diapers
mixed with some vinegar down the drains to cure stink

i put baking soda in a little cup and add a bit of table salt and use that to clean my bathtub. the salt gets more of the crap off (we have hard water from hell). i sprinkle it down then scrub. it works great.

I make a paste of baking soda and water and use it to scrub my baking dishes. It gets off all that baked on stuff - even stuff that's been there for years!
