I've been no poo for about 5 months now. I've also noticed that I'm losing some hair - I have a widow's peak where I didn't used to, and the front of my hair seems much thinner, more see-through when I hold up my bangs.

Is the baking soda irritating my scalp? Any ideas?

p.s. I do love no-pooing.

Hi Emily. If your hair loss at the front continues you might want a dermatologist to look at your hair and scalp. I say this because I have a condition called alopecia areata - an autoimmune condition that affects my hair and causes hair loss. It is different from what you describe (I've discovered after having this condition for 4 years - there are many many types and degrees of female hair loss and shedding). But, if it were me, I would go to the doctor now and see if there is anything that can be done or at least your head can be checked. My friend had a similar thing (developed a widow's peak ) occur to her- not related to shampoo or lack of - eventually her hair stopped shedding and grew back. Take care!

Thanks Tuesday. I will go see a dermatologist. I do notice that I'm not losing much after a shower or brushing my hair. So maybe it's not as bad as it seems. (My husband says he can't see any difference but I do...However I may be a little paranoid since I never looked at my hairline, scalp, etc. this much before.)
