Hello All,
We're in the process of buying a new home, and must now tighten our purse strings. We've been using green cleaning products (seventh generation-ecover, etc) for about 21/2 years , and I can't fathom the thought of going back to soft-scrub and pinesol. Any tips on websites, suggestions or market places. I know about the green market place site, but the shopping must be in large quantities. Any and all suggestions would be great.
Thanx,

I highly recommend the book "Clean House, CLean Planet" I now make my own cleaning products. CHeap, easy and cleans just as well if not better. I cant believe how much money Im saving by not buying all that crap and exposing my pets and baby to chemicals too! I love this book!!!
Im so glad I could turn you on to this book. Im considering giving this as xmas presents to friends and family who might be interested. You will love it and never go back!
Hello, I'm new but I won't talk long. I'm a customer of a company that makes non-toxic products, and I love them, they work great for me, and I have noticed a difference. I just posted on the Melaleuca topic on this board so you may want to read that.
I really do love this stuff, but I know it's not for some people.
hi!
go to google & type in " home made cleaning products" or anything like that; i was going to insert a link to some recipes online but there are so many good sites!
the one i just read had all the uses for using coca cola to clean around the house!!!
good luck
check out the recipe thread at the top of this forum for free recipes on cleaning almost anything in your house with natural and non toxic ingredients!
I use mostly just baking soda and vinegar too! I can't imagine ever buying cleaning stuff ever again!
A question for all of you:
Does anyone have a recipe for a homemade stain pre-treatment? The need is starting to present itself and I would really like to avoid buying a commercial one. Do any of the books mentioned have any recommendations?
my sister says if you take your laundry detergent (she uses bi-o-kleen) and apply it directly to the area with enough water to make a paste that it works great at pre treating stains!
Vinegar and borax are the only two i use too. Thanks to a cleaning co-op we have off shooted from our play group many of us are using much safer household cleaning products.
Hi -- I also have to plug the book, "Clean House, Clean Planet: Clean Your House for Pennies a Day, the Safe, Nontoxic Way" by
Karen Noonan Logan
It is fantastic! I've given several as gifts and will never go back to commercial cleaning products again. Also, I was able to find the spray bottles she talks about at my local KMart for under a dollar apiece. I wrote the name of the concoction AND the recipe for it ON THE BOTTLE, so when I run out I don't have to go look up the recipe. It works really well for me. Good luck!
