As spring is upon us, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for natural weed killers. I have very large flower and veggie gardens and last summer picking all the weeds by hand got very draining. Maybe something I could mix up in a squirt bottle and spray on the largest ones? thanks!

I have had success pouring boiling water on them or spraying with vinegar. Either would kill your other plants, as well, though, so be carefull. Boiling water seems to work better than vinegar for dandilions (very satisfying, btw), but will burn your lawn if you try it there and I couldn't find anything that would work for horsetails. I also tried both for ants but pouring dishsoap down the holes seemed to work best for those, and does not hurt the plants.

good luck.

Thanks! I will try both the boiling water and the vinegar, maybe even boiling water with vinegar in it! Give it a double punch. I like to eat dandelions though, tastes like spinach, so I won't be killing those. If anyone else has ideas I am very open for trying multiple suggestions!
