Our dishwasher has been really falling down on the job lately. I've been chalking it up to the fact that I bought bargain-brand dishwasher gel (I'm not usually that brand loyal, but DP is convinced that Cascade is the only way to go, and I guess he's brainwashed me ), and have been adding in borax and then running it on the "power scrub" or "heavy wash" cycle. But the past few times I've run it, even that's not doing the job.

Any ideas? What do y'all use? Of course I'd love to go more au naturel here, but I am SO tired of pulling dirty dishes out of the supposedly-full-of-clean-dishes dishwasher! :

No dishwasher here, so I guess we don't use one. I am no help. :

I've heard good things about Ecover brand IIRC.

That's why we hand wash

I've had good luck with baking soda wash and vinegar (or borax) rinse instead of commercial products in the past, but the dishwasher we have now just sucks It's supposed to be a good model, but it bites.
