I am trying to decide between a wool or a down comforter. Does anyone have experience with wool comforters?

I've never even heard of a wool comforter. I LOVE my down. It's so warm and so soft that I look forward to the change of seasons when I can pull it out again.

I have a down alternative comforter that we love, very warm. It cost me 13 at a factory outlet for a king size

We have one of each. Wool is supposed to resist bacteria/stay cleaner/all that jazz. So that's nice. But as far as comfort, I consistently choose the down duvet. The wool one is flatter and heavier (not that it's heavy but heavier than the down). The down so nice and fluffy and lighter. But that's just me!

I personally hate thick comforters- I'd love a simple wool blanket, but I'm not sure where to find one (not that I can afford a new one anyway!) For now I have my cotton knit topsheet, cotton thermal blanket, and then my cheap poly/cotton comforter with thin poly stuffing that I usually kick off of my side of the bed. One of these days I'll replace it with an organic cotton quilt.
