Does anyone have experience using metal utensils (ie-metal spatula, fork, etc) inside a cast iron skillet? Do you end up with scratches on the surface? Do you think there would be any problems from have the possiblity of little bits of cast iron surface in your food?

I'm pretty sure there's no problem with that. The iron in breakfast cereals is actually just tiny bits of metal. If you use a magnet on the cereals, little bits of iron will be scooped up onto the magnet. So even if you do scrape off and eat tiny bits of iron, it will only be good for you.
