I've been searching through this forum but haven't yet found a thread comparing the virtues of different oils as facial moisturizers. Which have you tried? Are coconut oil, shea butter and EV olive oil the main favorites? Here's what I've got so far; please contribute what you know!

Coconut oil: Very light oil; may not be moisturizing enough for dry skin. Turns liquid at 75* F. Antibacterial properties may help with acne.

Shea butter: Requires only a very little bit per application.

Olive oil: Absorbs well into exfoliated skin but may stay on the surface of dry skin.

Sweet almond oil: greasy at first but soaks in quick

Jojoba oil: so smooth, greasy at first but soaks in quick too!

I like jojoba oil too, it absorbs so well. In fact I add a little bit of a thicker oil to get the balance just right.

I really love my unrefined shea butter. It's the first moisturizer I have used that didn't leave my face greasy when I woke up in the morning.

Book recommendation:

Liquid sunshine - Jan Kusmirek

There are lots of books written on EOs, but very few on what we put them in. This is a wonderful book listing many many vegetable, nut, seed oils. Enough detail on where they come from and how they are used but nicely set out so you can get the info you need and ignore any of the stuff you´re not interested in.

I love olive squalene and vitamin E. Neither of them clog my pores. I tried jojoba oil, but it clogged my pores.
