I don't have thick dark hair but I do have thick brown hair. I'm also hairier than my husband. I mean my legs and pits are HAIRY. I don't show my hair much in public because of the way I dress anyway. I don't much care for sleeveless and always wear long hippie type skirts. If I did wear sleeveless and shorter skirts I would definitely be stared at even more than I am. I wear my head hair clipper short, isn't that funny?

HTH.
I've been using it for several years as a deodorant with absolutely no problems. I don't like waiting for me to get stinky first- then my crystal gets stinky and I have to rinse it off, otherwise it just gives me the stink back next time I use it!

I've honestly never noticed any stares in public. I'm confident with my body and either nobody stares because of my confidence, or they do stare but I just don't notice it. I also dress modestly (long skirts or dresses all the time, sleeves to the elbow or longer) so less of my body hair is visible than the "average woman" in the summer.

I used to notice stares much more. now I'm really proud to show off my body the way god made it.
I do tend to wear long skirts, but sleeveless tops i wear all the time, and i recently bought some summer dresses that are knee-length.

yes!!

that's one nice thing about being fluffy at nightclubs too. the more shallow types are probably gonna steer clear.

"give the stink back" : the crystal just holds it and keeps it icky-fresh for next time. i love it.

This is MOST embarrassing and will be deleted...SOON! But, since I already told you about the pit hair braiding session, here you go. Note the look of HORROR on ds2's face. Also in this batch was another one of him hamming it up pretending to chug the EMPTY wine bottle. Oy. What a night!

I saw them open for Gov't Mule, I do believe, a few years ago. At the time I hadn't heard of them but Jam On is always playing them on Sirius radio. Good stuff. My recent obession is Jamillia by the Disco Biscuits (maybe 'cause it actually has words, lol).

Clothdipemom, those links just take me to the MySpace homepage, not to your pics.

Hairy mamas go off topic....watch out!

mamasgroovin - hee hee hee! That's hilarious - thanks for sharing!

clothdipe - your boys are too cute.

I've had people threaten to braid and bead my pit hair, but they never carry through!

Hi Everyone!!!:
Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself as the newest card carrying member of the hairy women club, LOL.
Actually I am not very hairy as of yet but have been highly cautioned by a doctor to quit shaving my armpits due to medical problems I am having.
So glad to see there are enough women who don't shave that they even have their own tribe!!!! That must mean you gals pull some serious stock around here.

M : proud mama to B (16) : and G (8) and : x 2 :

...from all the way back on pg. 5!!

Unfortunately I have little more to add than that!...anyone have anything new on the hairy front??

OT, but I've gone no-poo this week and I'm loving it!! Thought there'd be an awkward adjustment stage, but nope

Nice
Nothing new here...accept I deleted my picture finally. : (As mf found out last night.)
Man, I caught so much crap for that picture.

I had to hide when I gave my dad access to my flickr account. He doesn't mind the hairy part, I'm quite sure he's used to that now. It just didn't seem right to let him see his "little" girl like that. :

I've been no-pooing for a few years. Once in a while I'll use the kids' shampoo, and I hate the way it smells, the way it makes my hair feel, etc.
