OK all...
I hope this is allowed, but I would love to have a place for us to chat about your favorite items/brands that Frontier offers. I find that when I am sorting orders from my coop, there are some GREAT things in there that I have never heard of. And even with just about memorizing the catolog, I have never noticed this stuff.
SOOOO... I propose a place to discuss what we order and why. How we use certain herbals, homeo's, lotions, etc.
What do you order on a regular basis? What have you ordered on a whim and either loved or not loved? What wasn't what you had hoped for? That kind of stuff.
Also a place to ask questions for hopefully someone else to answer.
So what this ISN'T: this isn't an extension of a coop, or the place to find a coop. That would be against the rules, I think. (But if I am wrong someone please correct me.) I don't want to be shut down for this becoming a 'bad' thread Anybody interested in participating in a coop should visit the coop forum in the TP.
OK, I think that's it.

I belong to a local co-op but some of the brands I order from Frontier regularly are Burt's Bees, Kiss My Face, Nature's Gate, Tom's of Maine, Natracare, Earth Friendly Products. I've also ordered bulk herbs (lavender for cooking and some RRL when I was pregnant). I've gotten some Simply Organic spices too. Frontier is pretty cool. I'm interested in what other people are getting from there as well!

I love their bulk French Onion Soup and Dip mix. I use it for everything!! My guests rave about it when I mix it with sour cream for potato chips.

I don't like their bulk cream of mushroom soup mix. It has a weird sweet taste that makes me and dh feel sick.

I like the spices in the glass jars. I don't know why, normally I hate having things all matchy-matchy but I love the way the glass jars look and it makes me want to throw out all my old spices and buy them.

But I'm restraining myself.

Frontier is amazing.

I have only done 2 co-ops, but I love so much stuff already.

Hyland's teething tablets were almost half the price of Wal-Mart's price.

I love Dessert Essence Organics Green Apple and Ginger Shampoo.

So far I have bought bulk cumin, chili powder and minced white onion.

I tried the Simply Organic veggie pepper and it is yummy.

The Simply Organic mexican seasoning is wonderful. I used a whole one in a month. I have used it in tortilla pie (with black beans and chicken), quesadillas, and white bean soup.

I love love love the Simply Organic Peppercorn Ranch dip. I buy a few packets when its on sale for $0.79. Thats much cheaper than non-organic dip mix.

We love the Eldertussin elderberry syrup. Of course, Burt's Bees is always a favorite. We also got Smilebrite toothbrushes (with replaceable heads), something we got as an experiment, and we really like them. I also tried Suncoat's nailpolish. I like it, but it seperates. You have to shake like a mad person for several minutes before applying it. I get some herbs from them, but I find them expensive. If I didn't live in the hinter land that I do (no road acces except for a few months in winter), I wouldn't buy herbs/spices from Frontier. DH is obsessed with the Yummy Earth candies.

For greater things are yet to come...

Aura Cacia Kids Bubble Bath. O.M.G. Super-foamy bubbles, and it smells good enough to eat.

I bought some of the grown up foam bath this time...we'll see how it goes.

I just placed a Frontier order. I love seeing what other people in my buying group order.

Fuchs toothbrushes for kids were on sale for $1.12 each this month! Cheaper than I can find any toothbrush locally, and I don't have to deal with the whole character toothbrush thing.

Herbs for Kids is one of my favorite Frontier brands. I stock up, especially when they go on sale (some were this month). We especially like the nettles/eyebright combo for seasonal allergies.

This month I ordered Jason shampoo/conditioner and toothpaste, Kiss My Face deodorant, Maggie's socks, Rescue Remedy, Seventh Gen lemongrass and clementine zest dish liquid, Boericke & Tafel homeopathic remedies (nux vomica and arnica), Boiron homeopathic sinusalia, Zhena's Gypsy tea, Yummy Earth lollipops, lots of Frontier bulk and Simply Organic spices/herbs, Deep Steep foaming hand soap, Honeybee Gardens nail polish and lip gloss, and lots of Burt's Bees items.

They don't sell "food", as far as rice, pasta, those type of actual food items.
If you are lucky enough to get in on a running coop, you can order from Frontier at wholesale price, usually 20-40% off what you would pay in a HFS.
If you have over 50 qualifying posts, look in the Trading Post forum for a current coop. They are great!

:
I am slowly converting my stash over to the Simply Organic square glass jars.

A new fave of mine is the Kiss My Face Honey and Calendula lotion. It is for extra dry skin, and I have the starting of excema, so I get dry flaky patches on my face (YUCK!) The lotion smells GREAT! and is thin enough that it spreads easily, but really helps keep me moist. And it doesn't bother my very sensitive skin, as many lotions make me BURN! :
So, this is my new fave.
OH, and I just got the Alba Botanica shampoo/conditioner, the coconut milk for dry hair, and I L.O.V.E. the smell! Very tropical, and perfect for the winter blahs of New England!

Yup, we really like the AC bubbles, very foamy, no bad stuff, and a very nice citrus-ey smell... Very nice!

Could anyone share an example of what the HFS cost of an item would be vs. the Frontier price? Like, I know the KMF lotions and soaps are on the pricier side at Whole Foods. What's the Frontier cost? TIA.

Depends on what you buy. Give me an example of what you pay at WF, and I will look up the same item in the Frontier catalog. The HFS aren't always too much cheaper that WF in our area, mostly b/c all the WF and Trader Joes are almost an hr drive: So pretty much Frontier is the cheapest option... At least for the choices we have in my area.

Just this description makes me want to get in on a Frontier co-op, and I very rarely take baths!

I definitely think that their prices on Hyland's products makes them rock too, especially compared to what we pay up here in Canada.

Not the best example, but my dog's vitamins are $25.00 locally (if I can find them) and $12.49 from Frontier. Once Frontier had a sale on them and they were under $10.00.

My Burt's Bees face wash is $7.99 locally and $4.something through Frontier.

For me, it's not so much the savings (because you do have to factor in shipping if the coop organizer isn't local) as it is being able to FIND the things I need. Also, if you can order $250 or more you can have it shipped free to your house. Personally, I like having someone do the work for me so I just usually join a coop and do a smaller order every other month.

A supportive military wife and mama to my busy boy and sweet girl.

I'm deleting my original post. I just realized that this is TAO, and I asked a local co-op'ing type question and didn't want the thread to get pulled for being out of compliance. Sorry! I wasn't thinking.

I too love the AC kids' bubble bath - and my kids like it even more than me!

the 'cold and flu' bath stuff came in really handy last month! - I think both the regular and the kid stuff was from Queen Helene?

i love getting all the health / household products at such a great price and also love the fact that it keeps me out of stores - I decide on what I want and end up with fewer impulse buys.

I like to try one new thing an order. I got dr bronners, eco wash, jason, kiss my face. I try to buy locally for the bulk of my stuff but some items are hard to find locally.

I love their spices and need to place a bulk order soon as we are almost completely out.

The amt of stuff they carry is amazing.

I just participated in my first Frontier co-op, and I was really pleased with the price and quality of the stuff I bought. My favorites so far - the bulk tea, the bulk spices (I got the Frontier fiesta chili powder). I got the Rescue Remedy and the Hyland's Bumps and Bruises stick on a whim, and haven't really used them enough to see if they do anything.

We regularly order Rescue Remedy, Emergen-C, Hyland's products, Kiss My Face, Jason, Burts Bees, gummy vitamins, spices/seasonings, essential oils, etc. Every time I run a Frontier coop, someone always orders something I wish I would have!
