I like all-star by smashmouth
I'm yours by Jason Mraz
I'm sure there are others can't I can't seem torember them at the moment. I guess its kind of personal preferences too because what will make one person happy might not have the same effect on others.

Just about any song from this:

or this:

I defy anyone to listen to funk and be able to stay still or frown. Any time I need energy or to be happy, I just play one of these CDs.

In fact, methinks it's time to pull up the funk playlist for background while I work for the next 4 hours tonight!

How old are you? I have some songs that I find really happy but I think someone older or younger than me might find them kind of "eh."

THIS! We sing this to our babies when they are upset and it seems always to make *everyone* feel better.

I'd amend this to add that Bob Marley--and reggae in general!--always make me really happy.

Also, off the top of my head:
Stereolab: Ping Pong and Jenny Ondioline (and lots of other songs of theirs, actually!)

Air Miami: Airplane Rider (soooo fun and happy! But maybe I'm showing my age/preferences; this was a classic of a 90s indie rock!)

Camaron de la Isla: Volando Voy Volando Vengo (a flamenco classic that I ADORE)

Gal Costa anything, in fact there is a ton of beautiful happy Brazilian music that I would recommend...

Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings if you like soul/funk--they are incredible!

God, there is so much beautiful happy music that really I don't know where to begin! Awesome thread!

Mama to a beautiful girl since May 2007 and a beautiful boy since August 2010! :

in my 30s. i do not care for 80s anything, i hate it in fact, especially "born to be wild" type music. everything else is pretty chill tho

I plan on listening to all of these songs. Thank you for your suggestions. One song that makes me happy is "Better way" by Ben Harper, he's magic you know

Ooh, I just though of another artist. Dan Zanes - he does the "kid" music genre, but it's actually awesome folk music that you will love, too and makes you smile. Great, talented band. We have Family Dance and House Party.

I'm also a triphop lover, but my dp loves folk. One of the hapiest songs I know of is a folk song and it turns out to be a fantastic song for kids too. And really, how can you not smirk and be happy with a little interlude like this, which is a spoof of the actual song.

My vote: Donovan's I love my shirt.

Actually, Donovan just takes the cake: Happiness runs.

SAHM to DD 03/08 & DD 06/10 made with love with my DP

Are we talking about songs that have a good beat and make you want to move, or songs that have uplifting messages?

It's complicated.
