You can register your desire with The Alberta Post Adoption Registry by submitting an Application for Voluntary Contact.

I wish you all the best but Please recognize that he may not want to be "found" some adopted children decide they don't want or need to meet or know their birth parents.

Are you 100% sure of the spelling of his name?

There is a Chris Bareth on Facebook.  The profile is locked down so no info about birthdate and no pics visible.  Numerous Chris Baraths as well.  Good luck to you.

YOu can't know if he wan't to be found until he is ready to find you! My husband found his birthparents. His mother was very easy to find, becuase she left legal releases with the original adoption agency to release her information if her child ever came looking. And then she had enough vital information (name, birthdate) for the agency to eventually help find the birthfather.

Have you provided the agency with legal release of information? That is probably the best you can do for now. If he goes back to the adoption agency, then your file will show you are ready and willing to meet.

In contrast, my husband's brother is adopted too, and has no interest whatsoever in his birth family.

I heard that my dad was looking for me about a year ago. I'd be really upset if he were going around posting my real former and current names on message boards.

Look at adoption.com because there are a lot of resources and information there. They also have a reunion registry for people are are hoping to meet their birth parents or children. You can sign up on there in case he looks for you. It doesn't look like he's registered there yet. If you went through an adoption agency you should also contact them to let them know you would like him to be allowed to contact you, if he contacts them. I'm not sure how it works in Canada, but those would be starting points. Try posting on the Canada forum on the adoption.com site, they can either give you more suggestions or help you find a professional searcher who can help you find him. Good luck.
