From your post it sounds like you lost control today, you regret it. I have been there. I especially felt the blinding rage when I was not on medication for a mood disorder. The meds have helped take the edge off enough that I can keep control of myself and think things through, apply parenting techniques, use my thoughts instead of just being overwhelmed by blinding rage and reacting. Examining the triggers is important. Are you without support? Do you have any people around you in real life who can give you breaks? Are you getting enough sleep and eating healthy food? Getting any exercise? (Haha I know, you're probably too busy!!!) I wonder if you are very overwhelmed and need a break.

When I start to lose my temper, esp. with the little ones, it helps to get out of the house even if it's just the yard. I know it probably sounds awful but just knowing that I'm "on display" to the neighborhood helps me control the urge to snap at the kids or talk in a mean tone to them when I'm totally out of patience. The park is even better; usually running around puts the little ones in a better mood too.

You're not a bad Mom or you wouldn't be here trying to fix it!
