He claims United Methodist as his church...but he sure doesn't seem to be a United Methodist...by any stretch of the imagination.

In fact, he would not even speak with the Head Honcho...Bishop is it?...of the United Methodist Church, when he was banging the drums of war and the Bishop had asked to meet with him.

Hey, I was baptized, confirmed and married in a United Methodist Church before I became a Pagan. UMC was and still is, to my knowledge, a very progressive and liberal experience. VERY peace and justice oriented.

Regarding the seperation of Church and State, we used to have an intact Constitution too! Doesn't it seem like Mr. Bush is trying hard to undo decades of progress on all fronts?

Correct me if I am wrong, Sisters!...Joyce in the mts.

W. was raised Episcopal and joined the Methodist church when he married a Methodist. I'm an Episcopalian, and prevailing sentiment in my church is that we're glad he switched!

His behavior is terribly unChristian, and I can't stand the way he wraps himself in the cross as well as the flag! :Puke He and his cronies seem to think that praying is just something you do to keep God on your side, that "God bless America" means "America, right or wrong, is God's favorite country!"

I made a little flyer that says, "Peace is the Christian way!" and has 5 quotes from the Gospels. One of them is, "He who is not against us is for us." which you'll note is the exact opposite of one of W.'s famous pronouncements. I've been giving these out at peace marches and putting them under the wipers of cars w/pro-war and/or evangelical Christian stickers. I would put them up on the Web for all to use...but the only drawing package I have is an ancient version of ClarisWorks, so I don't think my file is compatible w/most programs...but PM me your snail-mail address if you want a copy.
