I'm against the recall because it is costing us so much money and it originated in Orange County and it was started by Republicans. However, I don't think he has don e california any favors. Since the Prison Guard Association gave Davis all this money for his campain, he gave them all this money. This of course , took money away from schools, health care and other social programs. I'll vote for Peter Camejo when I get my ballot

I'll admit to not being up on politics too much these days. Who is Peter Camejo?

I am in Orange County and it was gnarly. I am in South Orange County, land of Range Rovers and convertible Jags parked in the driveways of $750,000 three bedroom tract style homes. It is just gross really.

They PAID people to take those signatures. Well if I paid people to gather sigs for anti child slavery petitions I would get lots too.

when most people hear that word they think of DIsneyland . I think of Gerald Ford and SUVs and fat republicans. Yes, people were paid for each signature as you usually are to collect signatures for any petition. I'm so pissed off at the republicans in southern california i could scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The whole thing sounds so weird to me.

I read the other day that if Gray loses the recall vote with 49% and then of all the candidates up against him on the ballot, one of them could win with 10% of the vote ... and become governor.

That is just so ... weird.

Democracy gone wacky.

It is all really, really weird. My ex-boyfriend is a candidate - all you had to do was get 65 signatures and pay $3500. Actually, the winning candidate could get less than 1% of the vote - they just have to get a "plurality", i.e., more than anyone else. Last I heard there were 195 candidates... and Gray Davis can't be on the ballot. It's a stupid waste of $, and I'm voting against the recall too...

I've voting for Audie Bock as my choice if the recall works (it's a 2 part ballot, first you vote yes or no on the recall, then you vote for who you want if the recall succeeds). She was my state assemblyperson and did good things... she was the only Green party candidate ever elected to partisan office in the continetal US. She's now running as a dem...

Would someone mind filling me in on WHY this recall is happening. I can't seem to find the reasons behind it when I search online.

TIA

Mom to 4! Welcomed Aila Wren on Friday, February 25th!
