I was taking extra calcium and it didn't do much for my cramps. I am hoping my continued weight loss will though.

Try magnesium (we like Natural Calm). Calcium can cause muscles to tense and magnesium causes muscles to relax. We need both, ideally in a 2:1 ratio, calcium:magnesium. But, as a whole, we are magnesium deficient, and need to up our magnesium to equal our calcium intake. (Take that as you wish - I am not "certified" in any field resembling nutrition or medicine. But, I have read and studied a lot in regards to my own issues. A great book is The Miracle of Magnesium.)

Hi everyone. Can't multi-post on my blackberry but I wanted to say hello.

Love practical magic. But has anyone ever seen bell book & candle? We watch it every Yule. What are everyones favorite witchy movies?

I'm currently watching xmas blues clues with the boys! I totally love Steve! Off to find a good picture!

The weekend's not hear yet!

I've still got 1 day before my weekend starts - and I"m promising myself this one will be good one! I'm a preschool teacher and sometimes those kids can run me ragged! Last year I had a class size of 10-12 with 1 teacher and this year I have a max of 20 but with 2 teachers. But I swear, those extra kids in the room can make CRAZY.

I'll probably be posting this a couple of times, but think of me over the next while. In the next 6 months or so, DH and I have to decided what to do. We both want a SAHP, but it's hard to decide what to do. If he becomes the SAHP, breastfeeding will be a hassle with the next when I go to work after 3-4 months after birth. But there are no openings to move up in his line of work right now for him to get paid more. And I have the possibility of making more money.

And right now, I really just want my dd out of daycare where there is so much talk of tv (we're tv free) and watching movies all the time (well a couple of times a month - but now it's cold and I don't know how often), and they never take them outside if it's cold (20-40 F) - so I'm stuck going out at night when it's dark to take my dd outside so she can at least get fresh air. And learn about her world.

Soooooo...... DH and I have a lot to talk about!

On a positive note he's started counseling and really bonded with his counselor - who's waiving the majority of his $100+ a session to less than $40.

CaptivatedLife- I know how you feel. I worked with 2yr olds for over five years before staying home. It was wonderful working with such young children but the pay and the emotional toll were overwhelming, so I took a 2yr leave that turned into a permanent leave. I am still involved in the field of Early Care and Education- Soon to be Co-Pres of our loca AEYC but very far removed from where I used to be.
:= this is my sending energy and love to those who need it!

We are heading to the library in a bit and then off to cash in change for a few odd projects the girls want to do and mailing our letter to Santa. Mommy has asked for help with housekeeping- we'll see how Santa handles that.

Have fun at your party I tend to go simple these days: like artisan bakery bread, brie, apple and a bottle of wine. (Did you notice the 0 preparation on my part? ) I'm probably not a lot of help. I'm trying to keep my stress down.

DOKk Poor little one. I hope there's not an infection, but if there is, may he heal quickly.

Well, yesterday I cleaned up the house and cleared my alter space. We're getting our Yule tree when DP get home from work : There are 3 fun things going on in our community this weekend:
1.) A local Artisan fair with folk music, dancing and food. This is one of my most favorite local events. There is so much local talent here. I've been waiting all year to get a hand crafted broom. (I drooled over them last year.) Also on the list is a gorgeous lantern made from recycled stainless steel cans, and beautiful wooden animals for the kiddos for Yule. It can be very hard to restrain myself at this event.
2.) A bead, gem, mineral show. I'm so excited about my budding beading interest. :
3.) Our local zoo is having a holiday open house. As far as zoos go, I like this one. They focus a lot on conservation education.

So, today I am feeling grateful for living in a beautiful area with many things to do. :

Happy weekend sistas!

Ankh- hugs. I've btdt and it's never easy, no matter how "at peace" with it I think I am. I see gun posted the threads for you... hope the camps give you a positive to focus on.

DoK- hugs to you too! Other than the fever, how is your little?

I had a nice relaxing day (well, relaxing as in chock full of things to do, but busy is good) planned. Yeah. It's not even 11 and that's all out the window. We got to preschool and dd1 had a meltdown. Total splat. I tried for almost an hour and she was still screaming. So I brought her home. And dd2 started screaming in the car two so both of them were damaging my calm so to speak.

DD1 is now cuddled on the couch, dd2 is nak'ing, and I'm beyond frazzled. I now have a dozen errands that aren't getting done and no idea how to juggle the rest of the day. Plus tonight is dd1's winter spiral at preschool.

And now ro is screaming again.

Ankh, I've btdt too, twice, it's always sad, especially if this was a long-hoped for baby. My best wishes for quick and complete recovery, physical and spiritual.

DoK, hope your sweet boy is better soon and doesn't have to be admitted. But if he does, keep a peaceful spirit as much as you can (and yes, you can, Mama!) he will heal faster with that positive "vibe" from you. I have had children in the hospital overnight and while it can be anxious because of your concern for your child, it doesn't have to to be totally stressful either.

Love you all, my candle is lit every night for the intentions of the Sisters

Ankh- I am so sorry.

Cramps are still pretty much here. I got a 6 am wake up call from DH, he got my email about the screwed up back pay. *grumbles at the Army* The cramps were pretty bad during our phone call and I even whimpered on the phone a bit. Of course that could be a combination of 6 hours of sleep and pain.

I had to email the midwifery school to ask for an extension on coming up with the money. Hopefully she says yes, otherwise I will probably have to give up on it. I have money in savings but, that is going to pay off something of DHs and is due on February 1st. He told me to take it out of there and I refused.

My Mom and I are going out today. We are also headed to the casino so she can spend her $25 players club check thing. Maybe one of us will win enough to go towards my midwifery school? I can dream a little.

ETA: DOK- Sending you lots of vibes.
