playa, i am also interested to hear the answers. i would say get them but i'm not the expert

i also have about four magazines that are just laying around, as yet unread, waiting for TM time. here are their stories:
one is a local free rag (but glossy and pretty) that came out around valentine's day. i was all hip on love energy-- i am single and have been alone for almost 7 years, so i was bringing in the love vibes to me, and i really wanted to open and look at this mag but i did not. i left it sitting around in another room for possible TMing.
two are things i normally get in the mail anyway-- a magazine from USAA, my insurance company (or was it AAA? i forgot) and something else.
and then-- this is so weird! i am not a magazine reader. last year after TM i thought i would keep all the mags and read what i didn't cut up, and i ended up recycling them for clutter. but this year, about 2 days ago, a full size magazine came in the mail. with my name on it! it's called In Style. i've seen it before but it is not my kind of mag even if it is for free. i didn't sign or send in any "free mag" things. who knows? but it came. and i put it promptly away for TM.

if none of them call to me this weekend, so be it. but they are new to me, and if they do call, i plan to use them. why not?

Coming late to the party too . . . I was sort of following the thread a bit last year but didn't actually do the TM then. I was feeling the urge to do something like this with the equinox, then something made me remember that the official TM time might be coming up around now . . . and voila! I was right!

I'm sort of an ongoing declutter-er anyway, and I'm getting a bit of a late start for getting it together for this year. Still, I'm feeling excited and did start making some efforts to declutter and organize some things that have been bothering me around the house, the garage, my car, etc. I did some decluttering and cleaning up in the basement, did some filing of things that needed to be filed plus got rid of some papers from there that don't need to be kept. I've also sort of recently decluttered some negative thinking, and two friendships that really weren't feeling healthy to me. I am so excited to be doing this! I think my DH is going to do it too . . . .

its really weird because I have been naturally decluttering for abbout a month. Not in anticipation of tm because a month ago I didnt realize that was part of it.

I wonder if something is going on that causes us to do this.

Last year we had from the 5th to the 9th to complete our maps. This year I see we start on Thursday, but what is the end of the first cycle? Are there still 4 days to complete this?

Yeah, I always encourage people to have their maps done in the first 4 days..but it is not critical. It is always better to do a map and take a little longer than to NOT do a map in the first three days. Read that sentance twice so it makes sense. lol.

Anyway, Crescent begins March 30 at 12:24am EDT

That is so beautiful!

So you had 9 different areas for different things on your board? I really think it looks so organized.

So, is it possible that the process of making the TM can help us figure out what we want? I keep thinking about how I'm going to be doing this in a few days, but I can't even imagine or picture what I'll be putting on it. I'm suffering a lot of don't know what I want lately.

Beautiful!

Thank you for posting these. They are really helping me get a feel for it.

Is it ok to write/draw on our maps? I ask because a lot I have seen (via google) all have words printed out from the comp or cut out of mags.

I think so. You don't want to dwell on it until it's time for it. Then you can just flip through magazines and see what appeals to you. In fact, thinking too hard about it can be counterintuitive, I think. I like to sit down and write affirmations first, then construct the map from there.

Another question

Do the TMs have to have certain themes (like prosperity, love, etc) or can we make our own with our own wording?

Yes! You can write, you can draw, you can paint... You follow your intuition! ::: I remember someone in the previous years doing it completely without any collage - just drawing, painting and writing.

You can do it anyway you want.

Typically, lots of folks use the feng shui baguas to break it down.

2-fame/reputation
3-relationship
4-family
5-health

So I'm not nuts! I totally thought that's what I was seeing but I took a feng shui class so long ago I wasn't sure.

yay! awesome energy here today! wheeee!

re: baguas: i used baguas the last two years-- once sort of by accident, lol. this year i'm planning to not even to a "map" but a set of cards, like tarot cards... although another idea is sort of creeping in, lol...

re: thinking before, vs not knowing. i think a lot of us have, esp this year, it seems, several "major" things we KNOW we want this year (homes, for several of us! that's not really something that would come out of... well, nowhere, lol)... but last year-- i wasnt in a place to do something like that, i was sort of in limbo... i literally had no idea what i wanted til the days of TM. i actually struggled a LOT with it... but wound up coming up with some really awesome stuff that really manifesting stunningly well!

re: methods-- write, draw, take your own pics, etc, etc, etc! i love to write my affirmations out in photoshop in really nice fonts (my handwriting is... less than readable, lol), and print them out on photo paper so they go with my photos, or last year, i built the whole thing in photoshop... this year i probably will do it all in photoshop again. i'm also planning to do a strand of beads.

So yesterday I had the sudden urge to declutter and it occurred to me that TM time must be right around the corner. I had no idea it was so close! I will never get decluttered in time!

adding to the info on baguas, 4 is the ability to initiate (half-way up the left-hand side) and 6 is the ability to complete (half-way up the right-hand side). 3 is mother/feminine (upper right corner); 9 is father/masculine (lower right corner). whatever you put in the center (5:health) affects everything. "health" could also be called qi/chi - your lifeforce energy. 7:self-knowledge also includes spirituality. i had trouble last year understanding what was meant by fame/reputation and "what makes you you" seems like a helpful way to think about it. lol, listed those as i thought of them, instead of in numerical order. sorry if that's confusing!

Not the best pic (I pulled them down a while ago) but here's my "current" map.

I drew an image of a tree/woman in the center (me, slightly pregnant and here I am, 19 weeks pregnant ) with the images that spoke to me held in the branches. The year before I did a more bangua oriented map but this image really spoke to me since we had moved to a house in the forest and I liked the image of "growing" my manifestations.

Be pretty! Be practical! Be Pagan! Visit Pagan Hearth & Home!
