Morning all. The sun is playing games today, doesn't know if it wants to shine or not. Yesterday we went to the Slush Cup at the mountain, it was overcast, some rain drops, and a wicked wind, but those people were out there having fun!! Today I will be sitting out side trying to soak up what little sun there is. I hope everyone has a great day.

BellaLR- I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Please know that periods like this in a relationship happen. You both have so much going on that make it hard, just hang in there. I hope next time you talk to him, you're able to get some things worked out.

Clay- Happy Birthday to Laia! and phew! on getting through the inspection.

Cari- are you packing? Good luck with the move!

brendon- congrats on Britta! love the doggie name.

Beltaine camp: I'm in to help, but with my schedule I think I'd do best contributing one or two days a week. I'd like to focus at least 2 days to celebrating in a different hemisphere, and more ideas for celebrating with kids.

There's a spiritual expo going on today, that while I'd like to go, I don't know if I'll have the time. Dh and I are making concrete countertops for the bathrooms today.

And now I need to go find Tracy's article and do some tapping, I'm having a hard time too.

Ok, so I have put on much more wt than I would have believed! The miscarriage was tough on me, and I dealt with a lot of it by eating, and eating, and eating. You get the idea. Well, today DH and I have made a pact to lose 15 pounds by our DD's bday, which is May 18. So, there it is. Wish me luck. We have decided our official weigh in will be tomorrow morning.

I have decided to bead myself a necklace for each of the holidays and have been trying to feel Beltane for the last several days, and I just don't know yet. Hurry up w/ camp so I can glom onto some great ideas that I know you all have!

Lioness- you will have a fantastic day! I hope you share some pics with us!

Peace- Heather

there is a beltaine thingy here, that a mama does that is totally kid-friendly. she has a maypole for the kids, in a public park. they use old tires to hold it up
maybe what your park objects to is things that will hurt or disrupt the land, or be permanent or vandalizing. maybe if you do tires?
i'm also wondering if there isn't another way to do the maypole dance without a maypole. i keep having a memory dance around the edges of my consciousness involving this very thing, but it's not coming into clarity

*sigh*

DH called his family today. No call for me or DSS.

Trying to think positive. Its not working so well.

My parents scared the crap out of me today. I was listening to music and having a nice cry when my Mom knocked on my side door. I opened it, said I needed a hug and started bawling. This was before DH called everyone (oh he tried calling a couple of friends too) and it I was feeling better until my Dad came in to say "what did your DH do now?" Thanks really helpful.

I refuse to give up. This has GOT to be deployment related. Right? Its the only reason I can come up with his hateful attitude toward me lately.

I am gonna go down fighting.

Are there any *basketball* hoops in said park?? You could anchor the ribbons to a strip of duct tape and tape it around the top of the pole under the backboard and instant maypole... sorta

Yeah I know... but as a typical mum... it seems like there are SO many other things that steal that motivation/energy ya know? I *could* go to the gym every day when Daim gets home. But there are other things that need to be done as well, dinner to be cooked, groceries I have to go buy etc etc. And a couple of days a week we are out elsewhere with homeschool activities as well.

DH just came home with an idea though, he's suggesting maybe since I have such trouble with time to go to the gym... that we look into *hiring* a treadmill (my preferred gym activity aside from weight training) Then after a few months if I am really using it, we could contract to buy it. I think that idea might be a winner...because then I could just walk my buns off early in the morning when it's quiet. Gonna give it some thought.

First off.. quit saying you are going down fighting, living in the negative is not going to help at all. It implies you have already accepted that it is going to happen, which is not the case.

Second, yes, it is most definitely deployment related! I'm guessing you don't fight quite like this when he is home do you?! Probably not any more than the average couple does.. deployment is a set of circumstances most couples never have to contemplate. You NEED to make an effort to see a family services counselor (or whatever your hubbys branch calls them) because they totally understand the stresses that *both* parties involved are going through.

You will also go through an adjustment period when he comes home, despite the fact that you will both be overjoyed to see each other. The stresses of the past year as well as the fact that your dh is in a war zone (which is a whole nother ball of wax), will change both of you and him in ways you can't anticipate. Most couples I knew take a few months to get over that hump and back into their normal roles again. (sorry if I sound like a downer, I just didn't want you thinking that once he gets home everything will be perfect and then be blindsided when it takes a while!) But things will be fine in the end if you are both willing to talk.

Okay, you are right on the going down fighting thing. Its mostly me trying to psyche myself up from the total despair-like feeling right now. Also, its been 57 days since I had a period and I am REALLY, uber hormonal thanks to whatever is happening in my body. Its totally exacerbating what is going on with us.

DH and I fought like this when he came home from the last deployment. Our fighting was not this bad during the last deployment, even during the worst of fights. I really feel hate (or resentment not sure which at times) vibes coming off of him. I have emailed the FRG lead several times, not much is said other than "these things happen during deployments, it will all work out." Not very helpful. Tomorrow I am calling around for the billionth time to find a counselor.

Did I mention I drove today? Yeah, it was up the big hill to the casino with my Mom so not far. I just loved it though. The sun shining, window down (car is a bit moldy) and driving. Now I just need to replace the stereo and we are good to go.

We've been through the adjustment phase before. I know this one will be different because this deployment has been way different. I will also say that I am already nervous about his homecoming, which is I guess pretty soon when one thinks about it hard enough.

I just feel a bit lost and I will find my way again.

I'd say your spot on with resentment... although it's probably not at you specifically.. more at the world for the SHIT environment he is in right now. I'm terribly suprised at the FRG for not being more helpful! That's their job

Popping in! Both dh and i had food poisoning last night, yuck. Things are going crazy here! so much to do so many things manifesting from last years treasure map in the last few days, they were in the works for the last few months. I got given a car! which is so funny because last year i put on my map "driving around town in my new car" which i put down in order for me to get my license, well i havent got a licence, but i got a car i guess i can be driven in it. Its my grandfathers car, he is giving up his licence, so its comming to me. Also we are possible expanding our shop and getting a new shop.

Bella we have to drive with the windows down in our old car too, it actually had mushrooms growing at one point and small plants. The boot doesnt shut properly and only one door unlocks from the outside. Better then our last one which almost blew up because of a massive petrol leak issue!

Also i had an energy alignment done the other day. It was one of the most intense things ever! after he did the first alignment i spontaniously burst into tears! it was such a massive relief! he picked up on a few things and was so spot on, Says that i have been loosing myself under being the protective mother, mother, mother! and more mother And that its important to remember who i am and not get too tied up in one role. So incredibly true in my case!

Much love to you all, sorry i am such a dasher in and outer at the moment, i am so busy! (loving it though )

Afternoon All. Its a beautiful day here. Nice and sunny, warm too. I have the front door open and a lovely breeze is coming in right now. All the blinds are open too.

Got an email from DH today. Apparently he will contact me when he is ready and I am to calm down until he gets himself together....nice, huh?

Anyway, I am going to have a good day today. I feel pretty good thanks to the lovely sun. I have decided that I am going to spend some time making myself happy.

Hey nonny!

The code list... well, they said they'd call DH with more things after they reviewed everything, but basically:

--provide a floor plan drawing (with elecric/plumbing/appliace/heat info)
--a second inspection by another electrician
--install hardwired smoke and CO detectors (battery powered isn't to code anymore)
--cover the exposed well pump connection
--pay for the permits that were never applied for/granted when the house was built

During the remodel we must: replace the stairs, level the bathroom floor so it is flush with the rest of the house, replace the "non-code" windows with standard egress windows, and bring the electric/plumbing that crosses into the new section up to current code.

Be pretty! Be practical! Be Pagan! Visit Pagan Hearth & Home!

Clay - what tiype of time frame are you looking at for the repairs?

Bella - I would be pissed, but then again I have no experience w/ the service or deployment issues.

Batty - feeling better? Food poisoning is the terrible! But having to share the bathroom w/ another who also has it is the worst!!

Brendon - thanks for the camp thread!

Today was day two of the workout. OMG! My body is painful jello! The snow storm wasn't as bad as was predicted. The roads are totally clear even though we got about 6 inches, the warm weather of last week sure has helped!

Peace- Heather

Smoke/CO- yeah, my bro was a firefighter and we have friends on the force and the hardwired get mixed reviews. Bit apparently they're required by code.

Timeline- sooner the better in their opinion but they didn't give a specific date. For which we are very grateful.

Budget- it's going to have to be since otherwise they could tell us to move out. With the proper permit DH should be able to move the stairs himself. There is one large window that needs replacing but we'd have to buy standard windows for the addition anyway. We'd already planned on fixing the floor in the bath... a long flange adaptor for the toilet and self leveling underlay compound are your friends. One contractor said he'd be ok with us doing much of the excavation for the foundation pour.

It's just a question of DH getting the time off. Our initial goal was to be done by June... I'd like to think that this setback wont prevent that.

Yep we always have battery backups! Power going out does not mean there might not be a need for warning ya know??

We're off to an art gallery workshop this morning, a local childrens author is going to share an exhibit of his book art and then do something special with the kids I hope the younger two don't drive me too crazy... heck... that goes for the 7yo too

Oh believe me, I am pretty livid. I basically emailed him back saying I would not calm down until we talked and that we needed to f-ing work this out. He never emailed back or called. I got the email 10 minutes after he sent it because I was getting dressed after my shower. So now I get to do my favorite activity in the whole wide world....wait. I swear I spend my life waiting for that man.

Besides that, today has been an awesome day. Its beautiful out, my cat was outside for a while and didn't get smooshed. My shorts from last summer are too big and I can take them off while zipped and buttoned I am reading and its just been very chill. I needed this.

This may sound harsh but it sounds like you'd be better off without him I wish you the strength to do what's best for you.

Cari- the hardwired ones all have built in battery backups. The battery charges off the house current so they are always "good to go". But they still have mixed reviews.

Hugs Bella- I'm sorry you're getting splattered in this.
