are there some things that you want that are pretty neutral? or has there been something that you have been wanting for awhile now that would maybe make things better? i don't know. lol i am new to this whole TM thing. i am going to do my first one this year. i am still unsure what exactly i am suppose to do. lol

ok, since we are asking advice, i have something i want to ask. i am really unhappy in my job. it is totally not in line with my values, but it pays pretty good and i have a flexible schedule. (i am an RN). i have wanted for years to become a LLL leader and study childbirth education, so i can do that. i know the LLL is a non-paying thing, but i really believe in it. i have been toying with this for years, and now i think i am finally ready. i guess it isn't so much of a question as i guess i am just saying it... i am ready. wow. i am ready. ok, so any program for CBE that you all know of?

I'm trying to take one with Academy of Certified Birth Educators. (I hope that's OK to share on here; I would have linked the website too but I'm sure you can Google it easily.) Since you are an RN you would be eligible to certify with them.

Could anyone send any happyhappyshiny vibes my way? My tragic saga ( - can you hear the violins??) is detailed in the Single Parenting forum right now. Suffice to say, things are pretty down right now for me and could use ALL the happyglitterness that anyone could spare.

Hi all!

Another beautiful day today! Coming back to more normal weather tomorrow with rain and lower temp. Oh well! we really enjoyed being outside for 3 days! The rain will prevent more field fires - people are clueless on how dry the old grass is right now.

DD2 couldn't enjoy the chocolate today. She got sick yesterday and the little food she ate at lunch today got right out soon after. There's no fever so I'm thinking intoxication or indigestion but I can't pinpoint a source. I really hope she sleeps all night - I'm wipped out. Three nights with little to no sleep are too much for me. (she had croup the two previous nights)

Oh! and I'm back in the Red Tent. Only got 1-2 days without...

TM - I was so happy that DS had a science class on that day! We had to go to the city so it increased my choice of magazine exponentialy. I got an email stating the class is canceled. Too bad! I'm sticking to my plans - we'll just be back home sooner...

TM and desires/issues: I'm trying not to let my mind take the lead - mapping for me is really an intuitive process. I try to let the images and the words pop at me instead of looking for things to fit my ideas... Then, this is an ideal and it's rarely achieved. There's always a few things I've been wanting/working on that end up on my map.

I think grounding yourself before begining (even before going out to get magazines), keeping the ground through all the process (drinking water, breathing exercices, feeling rooted, candle or incense,...) and stopping when it's not flowy can help. Using meditation or dreams to find answers can come handy too. (tapping too... )

Oh hugs mama. I am new to TM, this will be my first year. I am not sure of all the rules that apply to TM. I get where you are coming from, sometimes I am nervous to ask for things too thinking my mind might be so unable to focus the outcome won't be what I want. Is starting it on 14th set in stone?

Morning mamas

Starting my day with a cup of coffee and a bit of meditation. During the Winter I don't get a chance to meditate because I love to be outside, sitting on the ground so it's nice to get back in the habit I hope everyone had a great day yesterday.

I had a nosebleed from hell last evening. It was so bad and wouldn't stop, I had to go to the ER. I was all lightheaded. They ENT at the hospital had to cauterize it.

Now I can't blow my nose; lift anything heavy; bend over, and I am supposed to sleep with my head elevated for a few days.

I'm exhausted (couldn't sleep because I couldn't breathe out of my nose.)

Liz- has that ever happened before? *hugs*

Mamaofthree-What about post-partum doula? I know you would be way over qualified, but my friend loves helping moms with breastfeeding, baby and momma care and cooking. there is a step between doula and midwife, which I can't think of right now that may interest you.

Honey-*hugs* thinking of you- read your other thread. if you want to talk to someone who understands some of your situation, you can pm me.

Clay-I would put the class on your tm. I think it came back into your life now so you could meditate on it and let it move you in the direction it is intended.

Aweyn-do you want to talk? It really seems like your life has been in flux for awhile- dh in school, job stuff, moves- lots of change. even good change can totally offset your inner balance, rhythm and life. *hugs* What are you doing for you in the midst of this?

We had a lovely day with family. Weather was warm, but not too warm. Good food and more good. Nice to be home.

DD1 is FIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe I have a 5yo. Her birth started me on a path I never imagined walking, through some very dark places, but I'm so glad she is here.

Big hugs and hopes for "sticky nose with no flow" vibes! Ugh! When I worked in the dendro lab I used to get really bad nose bleeds and I always worried that I'd need to get one cauterized. Can you treat yourself to something? A hot tea or popsicle or new scarf? Just something soothing?

TM- well, I'm going to put images of weaving and looms on my map and see where it goes. It could be the nudge I need to get my craft space set up (my floor loom is in pieces in our shed awaiting a craft space). And I'll put a few circles of women crafting together... that could either be this program or some other craft circle. Either would be fine.

My current map has been more or less a non-strater, so I'm going to focus on much more specific images this time round. I odn't know if that would work for others, but I feel like by using really "vague" images this time round I didn't really have anything specific to focus on? Like saving money almost... it's easier to save when you have a specific goal ("I will save 500 dollars for a trip to this B&B in Maine" instead of "I'm going to save money") or lose weight when the goal is small/specific ("I will eat one apple for snack every day and lose 4 lbs by this date" instead of "I'll eat healthy and lose weight").

I guess for me right now I'm not afraid of manifesting something bizarre (which I've certainly done!)... I'm just going to go for it this year.

weather- 50 degrees, overcast, chilly.

oh man Liz!! My MIL had problems in her pregnancy with nose bleeds. They did a lot of different things for her, but cauterization was what finally did the trick. Hopefully you're better soon!!

Clay!! Jack did the same to me. I can't believe he's going to be nine this year. Just thinking about 6 months from now brings tears to my eyes. Happy Birthing day to you too

Ok.... Aphrodite or Venus?! How's that for a loaded question....ugh I'm still so overwhelmed. But I took a cue from my back yard and came up with Her. But I don't know still. I'm going out on a limb with Ares and Mars as their male counter parts....but I"m also having trouble figuring that out!!

thanks

eta- hit post by accident!

Aphrodite vs Venus... do you have a preference for Greek or Roman culture? I feel like a manifestation of the divine is somewhat "squishy" in that you can approach them/shape them after your own needs to a certain extent, but that each manifestation still maintains a lot of the "shape"/"attributes" given them by their culture of origin. Like, you can move a stream around a bit with effort, but a waterway will always have it's prefered habits and will drift back to it's historic channel if you leave it alone.

So, Aphrodite is going to bring a more "Greek culture" energy while Venus will bring more of the "Roman culture" energy.

One thing, which may or may not apply, is that part of Aphrodite's story is that she is in an unhappy marriage (her husband loves/honors her/remains faithful but she was married against her will and frequently "cheats"). Venus isn't (she has been associated with sexual healing however). It may not matter, but I'm always interested in knowing about any possible "wrinkles" a manifestation may bring with them.

Liz-that sounds like no fun at all. Take it easy *hugs*

momofthree-my group is meeting wednesday too! we're going to the zoo and then the park across from the zoo. Should be lovely.

clay-happy 5th birthday to your little one!

Dh has been out of work for some time, waking up feeling really bad, losing his voice, etc. Took him to the doctor because he needed to get checked in order to return to work and his blood pressure was 160/100!

For two weeks now we have take his blood pressure once a day and if it's still high, he's going to be put on blood pressure medication at only 28 years of age

Also, two years ago he had the same problem and his tonsils were already enlarged. Now, his tonsils are almost "kissing" according to the doctor to the point where he may need to see an ENT or risk problems sleeping.

This week weather is all about rain. I'm alone in the house since DH and the kids are taking advantage of a hole between too clouds to play/work outside.

Nosebleed: DH used to have heavy nosebleed and got cauterized many time growing up... He also got vit.K shots. Since we are together, he eat less salt and more broccoli and the nosebleed have lessened and are easy to stop. Hope it was only a one time thing for you DoK!

Sickness: DD2 feels better and had a little chocolate this morning... But I won't let her eat all her bunny at once like she'd like.

I've been asked to talk about Bach FEs to a group of moms/moms-to-be. I'm no expert, can't do it without my books/notes, but I can share what I've learned... To do it or not... Think I'm going to talk with the cafe's owner and clarify her expectations vs my knowledge.

Ouch! Can he have the tonsils removed? Maybe they're harboring a chronic infection and the blood pressure will settle once the stressor is removed? My MIL's sister recently had a heart attack (!) that they traced to a chronic infection in her leg! She had to have an operation to clean out the knee joint in order to help her heart recover.

Those window farms are neat-o.

Welcome pinkgeek and honeylilac

honeylilac- I read your post in single parenting. I am sorry you are in such a tough situation. It sounds like you have realistic expectations either way you choose to go. I am pro-choice btw. Good luck

Clay- Happy Birthday to your 5 yo!
The therapeutic weaving sounds really cool. And since you already have a loom- time to pull that out and have some fun! Perhaps when the addition is done and you have more space- it sounds like a pretty big project. Craft space images may be good on the TM as well.

aweynsayl- If you want to take a break from TM this year, you can. OTOH, If I were in your shoes, I would TM all about security, comfort, peace, roots, etc. Something to keep me going during tough times. And I may not even put a house image on a TM, I may take a break- but that's just me.

DoK- I hope you are feeling better today. Sounds like a massive nose bleed

mamaofthree- Yay for choosing something you love and are passionate about, and for leaving a career that doesn't correlate with your values. Good luck!

Redveg- the 14th is sorta set in stone. You want to use the Aries New Moon energy. Not before. You will have a window from the 14th for a couple days to get a TM done. You are EST aren't you? ET for the new moon is 7:29 am. So technically that is the earliest time you would want to start. ( PST is 4:29 am) The sooner we get our TMs done is better ( I'm pretty sure it's because we want to use that NEW moon energy, but as long as they are done by the full moon on April 28th we are alright. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.)

Valerie- Glad to hear your dd is feeling better. Yay for motivational chocolate, lol. The Bach FE thing sounds like fun. I'd come listen

I talked DH into helping me build a console table for our entryway this weekend. Yk, I have a need to make stuff with wood. So fun. Then more work on the pool...

Happy Monday Mamas!

That's what I'm thinking is going to happen. Ds had his removed when he was only 3 because of the same issue. Dd is showing signs as well. I too had mine removed when I was 5 so I'm wondering. Obviously for our children have a genetic factor.

I'm so worried. I don't want to lose him. His cousin died from high blood pressure and heart attack at 25.

Good Morning Ladies! Holy Catch-up batman!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, got to enjoy the sunshine and relaxing vibes (personally I was miffed so much was closed on Easter :eyeroll)

DOK - I hope you are feeling better! DH gets nosebleeds, but yikes for cauterziation. Sending :vibes for sleep, and sticky platelets for your nose.

honey-lilac - s to you during this difficult time. Listen to your heart and let it guide you. Whatever your decision - its never easy and give yourself time to mourn. s

Autumn- oooh I'm partial to Aphrodite, but I like the greek energy vs. roman. Greek is more humanistic, I think. I'm drawn to Hera - she just speaks to me! Love 101 homework. And thanks for the BTDT hugs. Its getting better with DH & Jack - heeh we both have Jacks, baby-steps to getting it remedied.

Aweyn - What does your inner voice say about doing a TM?

Mamaof3 - Swweeeett for CBE, I'm slowly working on getting my doula certification (did the training) and its definately an idea for my TM. I'm trying to not think too much about my TM and just start meditating on it on the 14th.

Clay - sounds like an wonderful opportunity again! Something wants you do this and has clearly put it in your path again. I hope it works out for you!

unschooling - ugh! :vibes to DH, blood pressure issues are not fun thing to deal with

Maia - cha-ching! Wow I would love if that easter bunny stopped by my house!!

Project declutter is in full swing - several runs to the local dump to drop off yard waste which has been sitting around for over a year, along with a couple of broken/unusable items (sink with a giant crack in it), runs to goodwill with donatation and more to send out this week. We need to still crack into the attic area in our garage as there is lots of items up there from our previous owners. I am firmly committing myself to cleaning out the energy from the previous owners and making this house ours.
Clean-up'd the yard a bit more, including a very neleglected pear tree. He was not happy, but hopefully this will help get him some more light and air circulation.

Oh find of the week for me - a neat little broom from goodwill. She's beautiful and voila was just there while I was looking for items to start a nice little alter area in the house. She will be helping me clean out the old energy from the previous owners, as I have envisioned. I also found a very nice plain wreath which I can decorate with seasonal items.

treehugger.gifAnd you who seek to know Me, know that the seeking and yearning will avail you not, unless you know the Mystery: for if that which you seek, you find not within yourself, you will never find it without.treehugger.gif

i looked up CAPPA for childbirth educator training. they have a distance program, plus they do ceus. i am also contacting a local LLL leader to see if i can get the training from her.

TM question: i happen to be working April 14th at night. can i work on the TM during the day? also is there some sort of lay out? like a time line sort of deal, or just all over the place like a vision board?

thanks

Unschoolinmom- my dh had some sleep issues and it can cause blood pressure issues. Does dh snore? Might be worth checking out both problems. *hugs* I totally freaked when dh had blood pressure issues.

He does snore as well. Blood pressure runs in the family. His mother has been on meds since she was 30. He sleeps fine, just snores. I'm the one with sleep issues :/

aaagghh! can i just complain here! lol i am looking up CBE classes/certifications... my goddess! could there be more of them? i looked a bit deeper into CAPPA and i have an issue with a couple things, their philosophy states they do not like "zion" births (UC) which i have had and although i wouldn't go about saying that is the way to go, if someone asked about it i would be honest, but to be a part of CAPPA i am suppose to discourage that. i can't. so i am looking into "birthing from within" i am also going to check out hypnobabies and a few others. i have a reading list too. i can get all but one from the library, so that is cool.
my thing is, i have this vision. i want it to be open, comfortable, artistic, i want the parents to feel encouraged. i want to have a reference library, a list of doulas, i want to do it in my home (our living room is big). and eventually one day i want to be a midwife... but that is years away. i don't know.. you know how you have a vision of how something should be... it is just getting it to that point.
ok so that is my TM thing i guess... working out this thing! lol
i also got a hold of the LLL leaders here and they are excited to work with me, so YEAH!

Heather, if anyone can do it, you can! I would love you to be my midwife. I know the birth center that I've joined thinks exactly as you do, maybe I could ask my midwife what she did if you want? Let me know.

So...my bbs hurt...and i've been peeing (sorry TMI) once every hour! I've been crashing for hours at a time. I mean, it's like I'm fine and then suddenly I feel wiped out. My bladder still feels full too. My nips feel like someone is clawing at them!

And amazingly my ds is taking a nap. Growth spurt maybe?

yes, that first bit, that's what i typically do, too, but that's exactly what i dont want to do this time, being too afraid that being so "off" i'd get something really not me.... and yes, tapping. ohhh, chakra cleansings galore, you know it!

thanks for the hugs, you! i think you got the answers you need? if not, ask more!

aww, thanks. yep, many years of flux! and just when we thought it was going to settle, it poofed! ...doing for me, alas. i'd thought i was doing the right thing for me, but it blew up in a big way yesterday, so the answer to that is "trying to hold it together at the moment!" really at this point, it's a matter of waiting for the dust to settle, which probably will be in... july... well, that's when it will start to settle. i think. i hope. maybe some elements will settle a bit before then.... meantime, i'll be working on manifesting that "something for me" element. i think actually, that will be my whole map. <greedy, selfish grin here!>

see, i'm utterly terrified of exactly that. utterly. terrified. i'm not going thru another year like this one. i'm afraid i would not make it intact thru to the other end.... for me, this year, it will be, i'm imagining, the softest, fluffiest map... although, i have to be careful, because the time in my life i was by far the most pampered and looked after was when i was pg and sick as a... dog? parrot? frog? pig? pregnant woman?

thank you for this, and your comments in the other thread. you rock. you and your pool. maybe i'll put swiming in your pool on my map....

you know, it really was saying, yesterday, "dont even think about it!" but then, i was thinking about manifesting ... well, stuff. a house, things, the life we want, those things. but once i started from the beginning (from mamaofthree's question), and thought-- really, i just want a nice shower, and maybe some new dishes.... well, it seemed a little more... do-able. i dont have to know what/where/how/when i "want" to do a map, kwim? i can just ask for peace and a nice shower.

you guys seriously rock. thank you so so much. i owe ya, big time.

now, where the bleep is cari?????? freaking me out. and where's maia????

starting TM- there's a lot of info in the TM thread. But the quicky version is the start time is set in stone (or stars, maybe?) since it corresponds to an actual minute when the energies shift from one sign to another. BUT, once that shift happens you have three days of "peak" energy to make the map and another week or so of "pretty good" energy if you need the extra time. It's not a race or anything, even though I guess there is a sort of astro starting gun, so the idea is to take your time during that peak energy and at least start the map then. But you really only need to be "done" by the 24th? 28th? Around there. Tracy explains it better in the TM thread but because you're waiting for that astro clock to click over it's better to start "late" (and miss the peak energy flow) than to start "early" (and not have the right energy at all).

send me some luck, k? I may have appendicitis, and I CAN'T have appendicitis right now! I had a stomach ache this afternoon starting around 3, it localized down to my lower right quadrant (pinkie on top of pelvic bone, thumb towards belly button, pain is pretty specifically 4 fingers "in" towards the midline), hurts to move/touch/cough. I've taken gas-x and ibuprofen with no change. Mild fever. Sooooo.... if it gets worse during the night we'll call my MIL or mom to come watch the sleeping girls and head to the hospital. And if it still hurts this specifically/intensely in the morning we'll go to the dr or the ER. But I'm really hoping it's just an insanely persistant gas pain, you know? Or some residual food poisoning thing. I need it to be that "good reality". So I'd love a few supporters in that view!

Clay - please, please, please go and get that looked at! No change in pain and I am assuming hurts to touch, means you've tried to palpate the area and experienced pain. I'm concerned you have this pain plus fever, is there an urgent care clinic near you? Typically they can help sort out whether something is more ER vs. see your doctor.

If you still believe its gas pain - usually helps if you can get into child pose with your hips a bit higher than normal.
