I'm thinking about purchasing a new Bible...the RSV (Revised Standard Version - Catholic Edition).  I've been looking online and I'm wondering if anyone has any input regarding the Ignatius Press vesus the St. Benedict Press.  If you have used - or even just looked at in person - one or the other or both, what did you like or dislike and would you recommend one over the other.  Thank you!

I'm Orthodox, but I LOVE the Ignatius Bible RSV - second edition (the one with the icons of Christ and the symbols for the four evangelists on the cover). I much prefer the RSV translation, but it's difficult to find these days.  My parish prefers the RSV for liturgical use (as do many Orthodox) and it chants nicely! I have the Ignatius NT & Psalms only edition - that's my primary small Bible that gets heavy use. Beautiful little edition. Type easy on the eyes, even though it's a small volume. The Ignatius NT Study Bible is also very good - HUGE volume though ( I have the paperback). In our choir area in my parish, we have the complete RSV.

Go for it! Dignified translation that rolls off the tongue easily and is good for memorization of the Psalter. No Thees/Thou.

If I am not using my Douay-Rheims, I am using my Ignatius Bible!
