Happy Friday

Let brotherly friendship continue; but don't forget to be friendly to outsiders; for in so doing, some people, without knowing it, have entertained angels. Remember those in prison and being mistreated, as if you were in prison with them and undergoing their torture yourselves.

Hebrew 13: 1-3

I'm new here (to this thread) and wanted to ask if I may join, and introduce myself...BUT, before I could get through the whole thread, I had to reply here and say that I love Normal Geisler! My oldest son graduated homeschool in January and went to Bible college for a semester where he was really blessed to be taught by Norman Geisler for one of his classes! He also had Ray Comfort lead a lecture one day...but anyway.

LOVE that this thread is here!

Blessed Christian Wife and Homeschooling Mother to 8: 17 (our 1st homeschool graduate!), 12, 11, 9, 5, 4, 2 and with blessing #9 and #10 due to arrive April 2015

Welcome myfillingquiver! Of course you can join us, you really don't need permission! Jump on in the convo!

So DH got me a minivan a few days ago, with the new LO coming we needed more room. He got an awesome deal. So anyway, I took the kids to walmart earlier and ended up setting the alarm off. I didn't even know it had an alarm! And it didn't come with the remote thingy, only a key.... DH is in AL for the weekend, and I could not figure out how to make it stop! So so embarrassing!

Chunk that is crazy.

So, we looked at place to live right next to a school. I could look out the window and talk to the kids. I'm not sure that is a place for us!!!! We homeschool and I could just see my kids wanting to go out and play...Not good

Thank you for the welcome!

Oh isn't that just the way? My husband was out of town recently and I had a van full of children in the 100 degree heat and my battery died...suddenly, I was completely incapable of figuring out what to do, because he always takes care of everything like that, and my brain doesn't even think of it anymore after all these years. I called my dad and asked if he and my mom would come pick us up in both their vehicles (we don't fit in standard vehicles, thus the full size 12 pass van) . I walked everyone to the shade where our ice cream in the van started melting..yes, we were prompted to go to the store for sundae fixings...my dad shows up with jumper cables.."like duh", and in 5 min we were outta there. It was just funny how I felt inside without my husband around, when years ago, I would have jumped my own car, etc!

I have the baby for the 3rd day and I'm starting to feel more comfortable. But the mom does not want to pay me and so she will be finding someone new. God bless them. She is a handful.

I was able to read the thread alittle better.

apeydef- You have a great day planned. Is that the summer or year round?

Chunk- My is never around so I always have to be on my toes. I understand being in the moment and not sure what to do!!!

OK! Need to go. Have a great weekend...

Late to post-
Yes I agree $1/hr is a great rate! I am sure if you started out free, that you would end up having to stay free....at least with that low of rate, SHE has some responsibility.
She will probably be back, because I would be surprised if she could find someone to do it all the time for free! To me she is really expecting too much....but for the child's sake, I hope they find someone that is going to be good for them.

Yes, the disrespect thing is something we have been dealing with our pre-teen. I have been reminding her that the Bible says to honor and obey your parents. And when she mumbles something, I remind her that even if I cant hear her, that God can and that is all that matters. A part of me doesn't like doing it like that, I don't want to cause her to despise God or Christianity.....but I haven't figured out a better way yet. =S Thankfully it doesn't seem to make her despise God or Christianity and to be quite honest she is very devote for her age.....despite her still learning how to properly show respect =S

As for schedule-
I tend to wake up later too....as I tend to go bed super late. School started for my kids on Wednesday, so I have had to get up at 6:30 and get the kids around and then to school. I get back home a little after 8 and then get my youngest breakfast and change the dipe.....then hopefully by like 9 we lay down for a morning nap.

As for daily reads-
My family and I read a chapter of the Bible a day Mon-Fri. We have been doing this for years and it has honestly changed us. It is amazing the word the comes in due time!
Lil and I are close in due dates....I am due in mid November.

The whole honor your parents thing should be a motivation, since it has a promise attached to it - so your life will go well! With Gods promises we always have an action to do first!

Its 1 am and I gotta get to bed, but I have a cool revelation to share tomorrow
