Christian mom ~Aug Heat~
Happy Friday :joy
Wonderful August :surf

The foxes have holes, and the birds flying about have nests, but the Son of Man has no home of his own (Matt 8:20)

3lilchunklins 08-01-2014 01:05 PM

Thank you for starting a new thread Naz! Your always on the ball :D

Interesting choice of scripture. Why do you suppose that Jesus is referred to as the Son of man, but others also, like Ezekiel for example are referred to as Son of man as well?

Nazsmum 08-01-2014 02:11 PM

chunk- Good question. Think that it is that Jesus is Son of Man & Son of God. God come to earth as Man. I believe that the Book of Enoch was a popular book at the time and said that Messiah would be Son of Man? Not sure I'm going to look it up...

Plans for Aug? Are you moving soon, Chunk?

We are still trying to find a place.
Going to another VBS
Looking for a new church...yes, my husband finally wants to leave. :mischief I'm a bit sad about it too.
My LLL meeting will have it's last meeting:frown:
Hoping to get together will a few woman. Praying that this will happen.
And few other things....

Oh, question of the day. (something that I do with my kids) Today was what makes you happy?
My 8yr - Being quiet with God. :stillheart
My 5yr - reading with you mom :stillheart
My 2yr - just gave me a big smile
Me - listening to music

Chunk & apeydef- What makes you gals happy? (enjoy doing)

BlessedOne 08-01-2014 02:26 PM

I am pleased to find a Christian "hang out"
And to throw even more questions into the mix...Jesus was also referred to as the "son of David" as
Yes, I agree he is both the "son of man" and "son of God" =)
He is the son of God.
The son of he came to Earth in form of a man.
And "son of David" as his Earthly parents were of the lineage of David =)

Nazsmum 08-01-2014 02:34 PM

BlessedOne- Welcome :joy nice to see you here. I think we had babies around the same time?? April/May 2012? You UC? Jump right in!!!!

Yes, Son of David. Forgot that one.

apeydef 08-03-2014 02:43 AM

Hi all. Welcome BlessedOne! I forgot to come to august until now lol. Watching my kids play and act goofy makes me happy!

Nazsmum 08-03-2014 05:00 AM

:jammin I went to a concert last night...IT ROCKED.

Happy Sunday

Nazsmum 08-03-2014 10:31 AM

Love- So, last night I met a couple of people at the concert. I really was thinking about how the Lord sees them? How does the Lord love them? How can I love them? What can I do to show them love to them?

The thing is...I don't need to be at a concert to be surrounded by sin. Right? We are around it all the time. So what I'm I doing to impact the people that I see? What does love look like?

I know that I ask this question before. I'm "writing/thinking" it out here. Maybe you gals will think about it to? If you want me to stop I will.

3lilchunklins 08-03-2014 11:43 AM

Wow wow wow, lots goin on here!

Welcome BlessedOne, great to see you here :D

I kinda have a different outlook on the Son of Man title.... Jesus began referring to himself with that title after He was baptized and the Spirit descended on Him like a dove. Ezekiel also had the Holy Spirit "come upon him" so to me, it seems like a title for being anointed by the Holy Spirit...

How can we see others and love others like God? I truly believe God sees us for our potential, not the here and now. Like when He looked at David as a young shepherd boy, He saw a king. KWIM? So to look past someone's issues and problems, and addictions and truly see who the are designed to become is a huge way to show love.

Were hoping to move in a couple weeks, maybe a month.

...what makes me happy?... Spending time with the Lord and DH, and it makes me super happy when I have a good day with the kids!

Nazsmum 08-03-2014 05:35 PM

Chunk- I going to look-up Son of Man in my Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics by Norman Geisler and see what he says.

Yes, I do think that the Lord sees us like that. I agree!

Nazsmum 08-04-2014 03:53 AM

Here something that explains the son of man title

John Piper

3lilchunklins 08-04-2014 10:56 AM

Thanks for those links.

So Naz, what church is your family thinking of moving to?

Nazsmum 08-04-2014 11:33 AM

Not sure. We went to a church this Sunday. It was OK. The Sunday school had a ton of kids. Great!! The people are very friendly. And it is not to far. So maybe we will visit again. Everything is up in the air. Our 1st goal is to move. We really need to find a place to live.

I like John Piper. Chunk does your DH use his stuff? If I was a pastor I would mostly read mostly Orthodox stuff. LOL I laugh because I am far from Orthodox in my actions.

3lilchunklins 08-04-2014 01:35 PM

Lol I have to ask him. I can't remember the names of the guys he reads/watches.

Are you guys staying in NJ?

Nazsmum 08-04-2014 01:47 PM

NJ- maybe? DH wants to move to PA or out west.

BlessedOne 08-04-2014 04:41 PM

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I have been a little cautious to jump into the "Spirituality" forum because I didn't want to end up in some argument or (although it seems vaguely familiar that their used to be a Christian subsection or something I visited years ago...but I might be mistaken). But when I saw on the front page the Christian group, I was like...YAY!!

Yes, Naz, you are correct. My last UC was in April of 12. =) Thanks for remembering me...providing it is a good Either way it is impressive! lol I recognize names, but haven't always been able to remember the details over time. =S

What makes me happy?--well.....outside of sleep (lol) and spending time with my family and friends.....I really enjoy researching in the Bible...and listening to church sermons =)

As for loving others- I know what you mean, my feelings have been on both sides over the years. Sometimes I would practically be in tears over a stranger visibly living a life that was getting them no where. And then other times, I was somewhat hardened to it and had to be mindful of not judging. Right now, I just try to remind myself that I too was once a sinner and did stupid who am I to cast stones? And besides that, I think the best way to show love is to be a good Godly example to the outside world. They are not going to want to join us if we are mean and judgmental to them. =)

Yes, it is good remembering...

3lilchunklins 08-05-2014 09:28 AM

A lot of folks from NJ end up moving to PA. I hear the taxes are way lower there.

DH said he LOVES John Piper lol

BlessedOne how you refer to the showing love thing is so classic! We start out way over on one side then swing way over to the other side. We miss the mark both times because the plumb line is right in the middle. Jesus Christ is the plumb line! Its just so funny how as humans we tend to be waaaayyyyy over on one side or the other. And swing right over perfection....

How have you been apeydef? How's your DD doing with the pottying??

Nazsmum 08-05-2014 01:29 PM

We just came back from Sesame Place in PA. I had a ton of fun...I don't know about the kids? LOL Just kidding they had fun.

John Piper is good.

apeydef- How goes it??

BlessedOne- Sleep makes me happy, too.

Nazsmum 08-06-2014 09:59 AM

BlessedOne 08-06-2014 01:00 PM

Yes, I agree, that too many times Christians are too busy looking at other's faults instead of fixing their own! But thankfully God is so gracious that he not only forgives the one we are judging....but forgives us for judging!
I have been learning that instead of beating someone over the head, that praying for them and showing them love is the best way to win them for Christ. And if we want to talk to them about the issue, then to ask God what we should say to them. He is so faithful to help us!

3lilchunklins 08-06-2014 02:28 PM

Its the plank eye syndrome! Were so focused on the splinter over here in someone else's eye we can't even see clearly or much less try to help them get it out with the log we've got in ours! Ridiculous flesh of ours! How I wish I could just turn my flesh off... Everything would be soooo much simpler if the flesh had an off button. I guess the Holy Spirit could be considered an off button in a sense...

My back is seriously killing me right now! Usually its just stiff and lets me know when I bend the wrong way but today its constant. I think we need a new mattress...

Nazsmum 08-07-2014 03:33 AM

I'm working on giving love to people. I have been hurt by more then a few people and need to let people in to love...

Chunk- I feel you about the back! My back gives me problems. Have you tried epsom salts?

3lilchunklins 08-07-2014 08:55 AM

Huh no. I didn't even remember that one. It dawned on me that your kidneys are in your back. And I ended up in the ER with a kidney infection with my last pregnancy. So I chugged a bunch of cranberry juice, some colloidal silver, and took a couple doses of vit C last night. Feeling better today :D

Nazsmum 08-07-2014 10:00 AM

Epsom salts has magnesium with is a natural muscle relaxer. :thumb

Crazy thing-- We just came back from the park. A father didn't want his son to play with my boys?? It was very weird. I'm not sure if he was just very over protive or what. The father kept call the boy away. My kids are very friendly and the boy seamed to play nicely with my kids....very weird

3lilchunklins 08-07-2014 11:17 AM

There's definitely some weirdos out there! I would try not to let it get to you.... I know that's hard though. The guy was just odd probably...
I noticed a mom at the park yelling at her DD to stop doing everything she was trying to do/play on. Saying this will happen or that will happen... why even go to the park if you won't let your kid do anything? Then she asked me if DS3 was my baby and then told me he's making her nervous. Geez lady, I think everything makes you nervous!!! lol People are just weird!

Nazsmum 08-07-2014 11:36 AM

I didn't take it personally....or about my kids. That guy was just weird.

Nazsmum 08-08-2014 04:38 AM

Happy Friday :lady

While it was still dark, Yeshua got up, left, went away to a lonely spot and stayed there praying (Mark 1:35)

apeydef 08-08-2014 10:01 AM

Hey ladies! I'm still here. Just busy and a little lonely bc DH has been working really early coming home eating dinner as going to bed. I just feel alone this week :(

Nazsmum 08-08-2014 10:12 AM

:HugThat is the way that it always is in my house. I never see DH. It makes it harder having kids. So I know what it is like.
