Can I repost the link, even though she respectfully deleted it? I am not about to step on anyone's toes.

The link does not say that all mohelim use the mogen clamp only that some do. The mogen sheild, used more often is Not a clamp.

I thought a shield and a clamp basically accomplish much the same thing, if you can understand the immense amount of foreskin cut.

A sheild is a sheild and a clamp is a clamp. They do different things. (One sheilds and one clamps). It has nothing to do with "the amount of foreskin cut" they still do different things.

A sheild sheilds. A clamp clamps. Am I the one not understanding english? Those words have definitions. That is what the difference is.

Why don't you use this thread to spread the word about the religions that do NOT circ, as was the OP's intention?

For all of your very important technical bris questions why don't you call your friendly neighborhood mohel, as I am not one, am I?

The shield and the clamp have been used interchangably. And I do believe that the law states that you should not use a shield?

<edited to spell "shield">

Ummm ... forgive the intrusion ... but the shield v. clamp argument overlooks the fact that most (admittedly Orthodox) mohelim do not use either a shield or a clamp.

They do not use them.

The link showed what, that some use a shield, a clamp ... whatever.

Still doesn't say what the relevance of those posted listed clamps were to "religious reasons not to circ," since the clamps are not used religiously.

Just asking.
