Healing dust sprinkled on you Tara.

Hang in there. When we are physically ill, it is a time to get quiet, to rest, to just allow yourself to be. Everything else can be figured out at another time.

Find a movie you love, listen to some quiet and calming music, nap, drink lots of water. If you have a water bottle (or an erasable pen) writing healing, love and gratitude on your water and that will help your vibration.

Time to heal. Be at peace.

Devon....

Do you believe you will find a wonderful job?

If you believe that....allow the universe to bring it to you. Remember, you don't have to figure out the 'how'....all you have to do is be observant of the inner cues to act on something and follow through to receive it.

You are exactly where you need to be.

exactly! i found this to be consistently true in my midwifery practice.

Barefoot mama i'm so happy for you that you got in touch with your dd. and I assume your dh got home just fine.

do you ever do homeopathy with pets? if so, i'd like to consult with you about my dog and cat. they both have itchy dry skin and nutrition and supplements don't seem to be affecting them.

Amris would you like me to write the forward for your book? I would be happy to do that, as I fashion myself a bit of a writer

Are you basically wanting a description of what it is you do and introducing the book (describing the messages of love?)

Let me know!!

As the years go by, it is easy to feel that the little things that we like don't matter at all because there are just so many more important things. I think this relates to why so many of the women I know my age are on anti-depressants or struggle with food issues. It is important that we are true to ourselves and the part of the that is enjoying the little goofy things that put a smile on our faces.

oh yes! This was a difficult concept for me to grasp and you've explained it so well.

I recommend this book nearly every day, :, but here I go again! Have you seen Ask and It is Given by Hicks? It has exercises to release resistance and raise your vibration, and a really nice chapter on moving up the vibrational scale one level at a time. It is my favorite book on LOA because it speaks to the nitty gitty of being authentic with yourself about how you feel, while making a decision to become happier.

I think you should come up with a good affirmation and then everytime you find youself feeling scared, repeat your affirmation.

Here is mine from when my DH was considering his options and deciding what to do:

All is well. Everything is working out for our highest good.
Out of this situation, only good will come. We are safe.
It worked for us

Trying to keep up here. To paraphrase Lisa Nichols in the thing I listened to last night, I'm grateful I have such an abundance of good to manage in my life

I'm so happy and grateful there are other geeks on this thread I'm not even all that geeky either but it's there. I'm more of a geek wanna be. Man you should have seen me at the Ham radio class I took last year, standing around listening to a bunch of middle aged and elderly men talk about electronics and feeling like I was going to swoon

They are and I just need to manifest them, don't I? This former friend isn't the answer but the whole thing was a message I need to listen to.

Thanks all

I've had that thought too! At Michael's the other day I saw they sold glass etching kits. I've never done it but my MIL has and says it's not hard (of course she is incredibly crafty and talented so take that with a grain of salt ). I want to find some solid, plain glasses and etch some for my house but I have some other projects I want to do first so I haven't really put much attention to this one. It's an idea though!

Well yeah, Picard for sure, EQ is everquest right? I never got into online stuff but lately for some reason, I really miss role playing. Real, live, sitting around a table for hours with a bag of chips role playing. We already got Toons to role play with the kids (my 8 y/o loved it!) but I'd like some nice adult gaming sessions too. I need to manifest that instead of just wistfully thinking about how I miss it, huh?

Hearing about working with the loa from lots of wonderful women who are in the middle of doing it... makes it so real, makes the information so vibrant and well timed and pre-filtered and useful and everything. Videos and audiobooks and lessons and all that are also rich material and incredibly valuable. But having both available is just the absolute best.
I agree I'm enjoying The Secret, the readings and the radio shows but this thread has helped me more than anything. Even when a situation doesn't seemingly have anything to do with me, I still get something out of reading the replies! And to think I put off joining this thread for so long

Being positive is good! It *is* a big thing though so don't stifle any negative feelings you may have. You might need to spend a little bit of time being angry, scared or whatever. Remember the "happy sticker" thing But it's going to work out GREAT! Enjoy the new, exciting, monumentally rewarding job you're going to have next year! And hey, if it's up in the Union County area, all the better

Darn, I miss Farscape! We'd have to still have a TV if it was still on. Did you watch Babylon5, too? (she asks hopefully)
Sadly, no, I never got into Babylon. It's funny to think of now (what with all I'm thinking about lately!) but I have some sort of resistance to new Sci-Fi shows. When X-Files started, I didn't watch the first season because it looked "boring". Then I got hooked. When Farscape started I didn't watch the first season because it looked "stupid". Then I got hooked. So when Babylon 5 started it looked "weird and dark". I bet if I had lived with people who watched it (like the other two shows) I would have been hooked on that too. I miss Farscape too and yeah, you're totally right about how I feel, That's too funny

That is so cool! My suggestion - be careful about backgrounds. A lot of times on websites I find it hard to read writing because of backgrounds. I don't know how that would work in a book, but if you do decide to use them, just make sure they don't interfere with the writing. Muted colors, not too overwhelming of a pattern, etc.

Whew! How many posts behind am I now?

I am apparently ovulating (and I also get hormonal then so yeah, it makes sense I was thinking of my friend so much this week). Anyway, I didn't eat very well this week and didn't exercise as much as usual and woke this morning to find I had gained 2 lbs from last week (instead of losing like I've been doing for a month). I almost got down about it but no, I'm buzzing too much lately. What popped into my head was the radio show I listened to last night with Bill Harris in which he said (don't know if I'll get this right) "there are no failures, just feedback". And I (totally honestly, not forced at all!) said "Thank you for the feedback on how my eating and exercise habits affect me.".

It would be this: http://h1.ripway.com/Nimmanu/sample.jpg only lighter, and written in Arial, not the script it's in there.

I'm so sorry if this has been asked before, I don't see it! I don't have much time to spend online these days, so I'm wondering if there's a good off-line resource for learning about the LOA principles. As a newbie, I'm completely overwhelmed by the number of threads/posts here and get totally lost and/or sidetracked every time I try to jump in somewhere Is there a good book I should start with? Is the actual The Secret book any good? Is the movie more useful? I saw a passing reference somewhere to a book by Michael Losier about manifesting LOA too. Please, help a newbie out! I'm totally fascinated by all of this and can really see it helping to drive some...er, positivity? (I'll need to work on manifesting the right term there ) in my life right now, and in general. I'm looking forward to treasure mapping this year and am trying to get ready, but I'd like to work on factoring the LOA in as well.

TIA!

Toons looks like so much fun. We already play Toontown on-line (put out by Disney, but sounds like an almost exact replica of the RL role playing Toons, except with Disney people). I think my oldest would enjoy Toons game too.

I really like the "feedback" concept as well. I think it helps eliminate the guilt of not doing something "right" and instead frees me emotionally to look at the lessons learned, if that makes sense.

Are you able to embrace this quiet time with contentedness as the Universe builds your strength and energy stores? Could you find a space for healing and loving yourself and your life exactly as you are? As these manifest, then you will be ready for more demands. It sounds like the Universe is sending you the time to be with yourself and to know yourself, that is such a gift that most mothers don't have before motherhood.

Everything is exactly as it needs to be. Embrace the present moments for the value they add to your whole life, now and the future life.

All is well.

I think a resturant supply store would be a good place to look for glasses. They sell heavy, plain glasses at a reasonable price.

I really want to do this! At least for my family. Wouldn't it be cool to have a glass that had the same word over and over in different languages? It would be nice to include asian characters, too. Oh, I have some many ideas!

Up til now, I've not been creative and crafty. It is something I've decided to manifest

The Secret is a great starting point. There are links to the movie too, if you're interested in watching it (I'll have to go find the links thouhg as they keep changing).

Ask and It is Given - Esther Hicks (good)
The Law of Attraction - Esther Hicks
The Power of Intention - Dr. Wayne Dyer

There are a ton of books about the LoA. Find one you are drawn to.

Well, I've discovered something about myself. I'm no better about cursing while driving... I've just changed my vocabulary a bit.

A guy cuts me off and is driving about 5 miles under the speed limit. As I start to get irritated, I say, "Darn it, how the heck did I manifest your dumb, slow @55 getting in front of me??"

I have come up with a couple creative ideas for dealing with things like this, so as not to expand ds's vocabulary in certain directions. When I start off driving, I set the intention that all the slow annoying people get out of my way quickly, unless I need to slow down (cop ahead or some such). If a slow person gets in front of me, or a big smelly truck, or whatever, instead of getting annoyed, I repeat my affirmation. I've been having some success with this. They generally turn into the next parking lot, or at the next light.

On the other extreme, there are the Big Hurry People. You know, the ones who insist on tailgating you when you're already doing 70 in a 55 zone (Yes, I do live in Massachusetts, and I know what some of you people from northern new england call us! ) I get over when I can and bless them as they pass, saying "Good cop bait!"

This blog has a bunch of good posts about LOA and other related things.

The movie is a good place to start.

DH actually just had me compile an intro list of a few links to pass on to a few people he works with who expressed interest. Maybe these will be helpful to you, too.
  • The Secret Audiobook goes into more depth while still getting to hear the teachers. I got mine at Audible.com so I can have it on my iPod. It's also 4.5 hours long versus the movie length of 1.5 hours.
  • Another book on the Law of Attraction that many like is Ask and It Is Given by Esther & Jerry Hicks. I haven't read it yet, but someone shared a link to a free PDF of it.

I'm all caught up and trying to reply, but- for some reason, I'm having major technical difficulties this morning. Oh well, I'll get it done.

While I'm working on that- any last thoughts on my article for my friend?

TIA!
The Michael Losier book (The Law of Attraction) is very straight forward. I highly recommend it for the 'beginner.'

Another good one is 'The Attractor Factor' by Joe Vitale (he was in 'The Secret').

And, as mentioned, 'Ask and It Is Given' is great, and has many exercises (they call them 'processes') which can be very helpful.

That's what I'd recommend you start with, if you don't plan on seeing the movie.

As much as I love Wayne Dyer, I think he gets too wordy and off-track as far as LoA stuff goes. I've been listening to him for years, and while I've learned a lot from him, I only got the very basic of LoA from him.
