For those of you who are Barack fans, can you tell me what his position is on partial birth abortion?

Someone told me yesterday that he supports it, is that true?

No. He actually tried to pass a bill against PBA in Illinois, but it was shot down by Republicans who wanted to ban abortion period, and didn't want to compromise to at least save SOME lives.

DH adds War Barack Obama! lol

Well no wonder I didn't get it I'm not a sports person in the least. NASCAR, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, college football, etc. ... none of it holds any appeal to me. I'm too much of a book-nerd for sports.

Thanks for the correction, Kelly. : Silly me.

So, I'm exhausted. We were out holding up signs around a local polling spot today. This after DH dragged in at 6:30am from being out all night putting up signs. He just took a nap while I did some chores. We're heading out again soon. Whew. This whole thing is almost over . . .

Still looking forward to the party tonight . . . how's it gonna go? I have no idea! Where's a nail-biting smilie when you need one?

Yeah, us neither. When we got our sattelite TV hooked up (only way to get ANYTHING out here is via satelite) dh was talking to them about programming and they were running a promotional thing where if you signed up for 4 months of "NFL Sunday Ticket" (being able tos ee allthe games) they would give the premium ($90 pkg) for free for those months... so he signed up for that. Now it's over and we've changed to something smaller and much more practical for us (ie, stuff we actually watch! LOL). When i called to change it, the lady said "you realize you're going to lose all your sports programming?" and I was like "yes, thank heaven!"
Silly Dh is so gullible to sales pitches. He figured it was better to get the extra channels so we could get conference and stuff, but what do ya know, when I actually checked teh channel lineup, BYUTV is included on the smaller packages. So we have NAt Geo and Discovery and Food (gotta love Iron Chef!) and scrap all that sports stuff.

OK, change of topic--has anybody seen "Iron Chef"? Do their recipes make you feel totally inspired? Last night DH and I decided we want them to do "Battle zucchini" so we can get recipe ideas.

I'm pretty sure I'm having a miscarriage. I'm feeling pretty detached right now, which is amazing, to just watch myself clean up the blood I left in the bathroom without much emotion. I guess it hasn't hit yet. I was 14 weeks. No summer baby for us.

I'm so sorry. If you want to talk, please feel free to PM me. I totally know what you mean about feeling detached. I still think back to my m/c only a month ago and I can actually watch it like someone was taping me with a camera. I don't even remember going through any of it. And every now and then it'll hit me . I'm so sorry you're going through this. I don't think anybody should ever have to.

Oh Bronwyn!!! I'm so sorry. I had a 14-week miscarriage 2 years ago.

It's okay to feel detached from it, and it's okay to feel totally devastated too . . .

Lots and lots and lots of hugs coming your way . . . :

Aaaaand, there's the final nail in the Romney coffin for me:

Romney's statement on prophets may contradict LDS doctrine

"In a lengthy interview with one of Boston's most prominent journalists, Mitt Romney was asked the following:

'Should God speak to you and ask you to do something that might be in conflict with your duties as president or should he speak to your Prophet who would speak to you - how would you make that decision, how would you handle that?'

To which Romney responded: 'I don't recall God speaking to me. I don't know that he has spoken to anyone since Moses and the bush or perhaps some others.' "

Yeah, I see he says "perhaps some others." 'Cause if he says "God spoke to Joseph Smith, and he speaks to Gordon B. Hinckley today," he'd lose everyone but the Mormons. "Perhaps!" UGH.

I cannot admire his speaking around what he really means.

My wiser friend says this:

"there's a gross misunderstanding of the way revelation works that mitt is not picking up and could very easily use to defend his position
the man who receives revelation for the good of the nation is Gordon B. Hinckley
the method of his delivery is general conference
not the oval office
God wouldn't tell President Hinckley to tell Mitt something
"do this or america will be destroyed"
there's no "this" that's not already been underlined
what, repent?
that's not the president's job to do
God's designs are better than ours
He's not going to exploit the Mormon in the white house to get His message across
that's human thinking
and if Mitt would just explain that's how revelation works
there wouldn't be a problem
but now he looks like a complete fool"

I hope that was taken out of context. Otherwise, he's a coward. I'm actually going to assume he explained further.

Whenever I get interested in a new idea, I always assume that everyone around me is too. So I think I'm going to see the Utah primary results rolling in and be totally shocked that people voted for Romney

Just saw LTB on KSL news about the NH Primary casting her vote (presumably for Romney ) with her son (looked like he was in a sling too!)

Lots of hugs to you Bronwyn!

We aren't Romney fans either. We like many of the things Ron Paul stands for, but we could not be more opposite when it comes to immigration. And its a top issue for us. Its frustrating to find a candidate that we could get behind in so many other ways, but who has, what is for us, a huge flaw and a deal breaker! We don't like Edwards for his stance on mandatory preventative health care being part of universal health care. And we don't like Hilary or any of the other top Republican candidates. We may vote for some rather obscure candidate that we really like if none of the major Rep, Dem or third party candidates appeal to us. I know many would say I'd be throwing away my vote, but I'd much rather vote for someone I can more fully support.

If by "Happy Valley," you location means UT itself, the only vote thrown away is one for a Democrat. The state goes red at 8:01 PM. I always voted 3rd party when I lived there because it gets more campaign funding for those parties. Are they completely non-affiliated candidates on the ballot? Even if you vote for one of them, that vote is recorded. It will become a statistic somewhere!

Watching ABC NH Primary news, just saw LTB - again - and her husband when they cut to Mitt Romney's HQ.
