I am giving a blessing/shower for a friend and am looking for ideas on some things we can do for her to bless the end of the pregnancy, the birth. This is her second child and he is a boy. The gathering will be small, 6-8 women. I would love to hear from anyone that has ideas, inspirations, experiences. TIA!

I had a moroccian woman come over to my house and paint my belly with henna. Check out my family website link in the signature and you can see my design. She kinda free styled it.

Another idea is to hand out candles to all the girls and designate one person to call everyone as soon as labor starts. Everyone is to light their candel in vigil of the new life that is about to begin. It may be some comfort to the mother to know that everyones thoughts are with her. You could type out a poem or blessing and wrap it around the candle.

Thanks for starting this thread, I am planning a blessingway for my daughter who is expecting her second child and I'm looking for some things to do that will be meaningful to her.

Megan_Cherry, thank you for sharing your henna belly with us.

I like your idea about the candles also. A variation on that that I have herd of is to have each person burn a candle and pray over it, or bless it, and then give it to the expectant mother to either burn during her labor, or after the baby is born.
