What is it exactly and what do you do in your personal practice.

TIA!

I try to remember to keep up on the Saint of the day and pray the rosary.

I read a Psalm and meditate for twenty minutes. Preferably in the morning after the kids go to school. I also try to read the daily scripture passage from the Upper Room (United Methodist) in the pick up line for my kindergartener.

I (try to everyday, anyhow!) read a chapter of the Bible every morning and pray. Sometimes it can be really hard because I feel dragged down with the weight of all the issues that are going on in my life, and it's so hard to remember how freeing Christ can be. So far, I've read through the entire New Testament and am reading it again, and have started on the Old Testament as well. I'm in Matthew 24 in the new and almost through with Exodus in the old.

So basically a Daily Devotional is just reading the scriptures and meditating on them and praying?

Basically. It's time that you set aside every day to be with the Lord, be it with prayer, reading the Word, singing, ext-time devoted to the Lord.

That makes total sense! I just have seen the devotional books and have always wondered what exactly they were for. Thanks!
